Vicki and Richard Palmer – Restless in Seattle

We are proud to finally announce that we are no longer members of the Church of Scientology. Although we have each had immense gains from the tech and continue to support its application, we can no longer support a management that has become abusive.

Richard and I had dedicated our lives to the church and were betrayed on many levels. I was raised in Scientology, did the Comm Course at age 9 and started academy training at age 12. Richard joined staff at Seattle Fdn and stayed on for 13 years.

In spite of the many gains we got from the tech, our years of participation left us in overwhelming debt, poor case shape and treated like ethics bait. Richard has been posting under the name Joe Doakes. I’ve posted under the pseudonym ClearlyMistreated and I believe my letter to the C/S below explains the name well. After reading this you’ll see why we were ready to open our eyes when we heard about The Truth Rundown in July 2009.

Dear AOLA C/S, 7/3/06

I am just writing to let you know what I think is wrong with my case and why I won’t be coming back. After 10 long years of trying to handle my case, I still must conclude that I am Clear. Nothing else explains everything as well as this does.

Although I am not well trained in tech, I am familiar with the LRH tech on going back to just before the point of having trouble and that is where something was wrong. The point where I was doing exceedingly well and winning was when I originally thought I was Clear.

I was getting my auditing at Celebrity Centre Int and had gotten into debt about $60,000 to do my KTL, grades and NED to the point where I thought I was Clear. At this point I didn’t care about the debt. I was on top of the world. Everything had changed. I had never been so happy.

Unfortunately this only lasted for one day because the very next day they told me I wasn’t Clear. I had to borrow another $40,000 or so to audit repair and the rest of my NED because I was determined to either convince them that I was Clear or to actually go Clear.

I left CCI on the bottom of the world. I was sad and in debt way over my head.

I have been struggling for the 10 years since then. I’ve barely been able to survive financially. Mentally I’ve been in a confusion. It is something that I’ve literally thought about every day since then, at least a little bit. It has really drained me and made it difficult for me to enjoy life. What seemed like a dream come true turned into a nightmare that I can’t wake up from.

I have visited different orgs at least 6 times in the last 10 years in attempts to resolve the matter. Nothing has ever been resolved, I just leave in more confusion and debt. I come away with new “whys” but no org has yet been successful in convincing me that I’m not Clear. Some have come pretty close, but never 100% permanently.

I don’t really care if you agree with me or not. I’m not writing this to convince you. I’m just writing it to explain what I think and why I won’t be coming back anytime soon.

You can write me off as having O/Ws or being out-ethics, I know I have all the “symptoms.” But I’m not going to buy that. I know that is not my “why” and I find it annoying to have that pushed on me. It just confuses and depresses me more.

I know it’s sad, but I’ve given up on doing the Bridge for now. I have to get on with my life. I had one child but I’ve put off having any more because I wanted to get up the Bridge. Now it’s time to put that dream on hold. I’ll come back some day in about 20 years when my children are grown and I’ll have more than enough time and money to dedicate to doing the alternate route.

Until then you can just stick this letter on the top of my folder and send it to deep storage. The only thing I can do now is try and forget about it all and hope it will destimulate so I can live at least a little bit happily ever after. Please don’t try to call me any more because that only restimulates it all.

Sincerely,

Vicki Palmer

I have felt such relief since having the correct SP indicated: DM.

Here’s a message directly to you, David Miscavige: I want my folders back and I want my brother back! Until then you can consider me “Theta the Problem.”

You’ve Got Mail”

We believe that the suppressive element in the church can be dissolved if enough people stand up and deliver the truth to the Scientology public. It is the public that empower and fund the suppression. The people with the best chance of communicating the truth are us—former and independent Scientologists.

After a year of internet research, Richard and I were certain that the existing church was corrupt to the core and couldn’t be fixed from the inside. Yet we felt the need to do something. After months of evaluating the situation and potential solutions we came up with our master plan. We wrote and mailed out our own “SP Declare” to the Seattle field! We followed up the mailing a few days later with an email to the Seattle field to drive them to our website www.ethicsorders.org. Needless to say, this lit a powder keg in Seattle!

Scientologists opened their mailboxes to see a white envelope with an obviously goldenrod paper inside. The return address had a note above it that said “Seattle E/O.” All the feedback we’ve received indicates that people feel compelled to open these letters and read them in their entirety.

Although most of the direct comm we’ve received from current church members is negative, it represents very few people. The vast silence speaks volumes.

Our website stats were “straight up and vertical” for the first week with each visitor spending an average of eight minutes viewing six pages on our website before clicking off.

The plan was calculated to use a known comm line to deliver our message. We hoped to sidestep the mental blocks Scientologists have that keep them from looking—at least long enough to get them to ask their own questions. We knew these triggers too well, having been on that side ourselves. We used the local recognition that Tony, Marie-Joe, Bert, Lynne and the rest of us had. We hoped that local Scientologists would be interested in reading about someone they recognized, just like Richard and I had listened to Marty’s testimony because we recognized him.

Besides, no Scientologist can resist reading a goldenrod! The Church is left defenseless since they refuse to distribute any actual declares, in direct violation of LRH policy. They are defenseless because there is no defense against the truth.

The church thinks they can go around declaring people and hoping they’ll disappear. What they’re really doing is creating a mystery in the minds of all those that knew them. A vacuum waiting to be filled. They can continue to disconnect, but we will continue to communicate. Communication, not disconnection, is the universal solvent.

Sincerely,

Vicki and Richard Palmer

Dear Friends,

HCO PL 4 March 1965 : Reserved Payment Account

OEC Vol 3, p. 315: Purpose of the Reserved Payment Account: To prevent a false idea of the financial position of the org from occurring by providing a place where money awaiting disbursement can be placed before it is actually paid out, thus removing it from the general accounts and estimates of financial position of the org.

OEC Vol 3, p. 316: Savings: When the org desires to buy something big or expensive, it should not use time payments, hire, purchase or mortgages. It should start putting money into the Reserved Payment Account and, when the full sum is there, buy the item for cash, using the fact to obtain a good, big discount. While the Building Fund on building purchases is also intended to help buy buildings outright, there is nothing wrong with also depositing available amounts of the disbursement sum in the Reserved Payment Account to help out.

Additionally,

HCO PL 18 Jan 1965:  Financial Management Building Fund Account

OEC Vol 3, p. 42: The primary purpose is to provide a cushion by which an organization which is becoming insolvent may be salvaged.  The secondary purpose of the Building Fund is to purchase property, but when this is done, the purchase must be for cash or, if any mortgage is involved, all further payments than the initial payment must be made from expense sum.

Finally,

OEC Vol 3, p. 247: HCO PL 28 Jan 1965: How to Maintain Credit Standing and Solvency

The secret to solvency is:

1. Make a lot of money.

2. Spend less than you make.

3. Make it before you spend it.

4. Gather bit by bit a cushion of cash to fall back on and don’t ever fall back on it.

5. Keep your credit excellent as a second cushion.

6. Refuse to spend reserves

Etc.

These basic LRH policy letters on finance plus the many others contained in Volume 3, give a perfect roadmap for expanding any org, whether the local org in your local sphere or the upper level orgs in Int’l Management. Clearly there is an abandonment of LRH finance policy, witnessed by the Ideal Org fund raising program, which is off- policy and not to be found in any LRH policy. With off-policy as the current operating basis from COB, David Miscavige, I have no choice but to withdraw my allegiance to the Church of Scientology as I can no longer support anything but pure LRH.

To give one a little history. I found Scientology in 1984. I was living in Tyler, Texas and my sister-in-law had just been introduced to the subject and had done Life Repair. I could tell from talking to her on the phone that she was different.  At that time, life had kicked me in the teeth enough times and I was looking for answers. I asked how much money I needed and I was told around $2,500. I was a single woman at the time, teaching school and had no resources. I went around to 3 banks, asking for an unsecured loan and when they all turned me down, I then lied and said I needed money for my daughter who needed health care. That was the magic ticket and I left with a loan for $3,000, getting just a little extra in case I wanted to do a course.

I purchased the Dianetics book and then I took off for Dallas to the Mission of the Southwest, there on Mandeville Road, off Central Expressway.

I paid for Life Repair and cleared words while in session, as I had no prior information about this subject. My life turned on a dime, and I handled a long-term situation with my father. I was really happy for the first time.

I returned to Tyler, taught school and one day while mowing my lawn, I decided that I wanted to go Clear. I called my ex sister-in-law (we had both since divorced the boys) and I moved in with her, quit teaching, had no idea where I’d work or what I’d do, but I knew I wanted to go Clear.

Shortly thereafter I joined staff and was the PCS in Div. 6 for a 2-1/2 year contract. During that time we had highest ever statistics with new public and the org was booming.

Not to bore anyone with the full story, suffice it to say, that I have worked totally in an environment with fellow Scientologist since 1984, and have been dedicated and very engaged in my Church.

In 1987, I regged Jay Proctor for staff as well as my 2D and from that point forward, we both loved and used LRH policy to navigate our marriage and the raising of our son, who was delivered by standard LRH birthing policies in our home with a mid-wife. In October 2009, Jay dropped his body, with a full LRH Last C/S, surrounded by OTs. We applied LRH tech to our everyday life.

LRH tech was the glue for our life, as there is no situation that we were unable to handle using the tech.  In the 1980’s – early 1990’s, it was fun being a Scientologist and a staff member, even though we worked very long hours. We had community activities, we played the Birthday Game for blood, we had great parties at the org on Friday nights, both public and staff included. We had church picnics and a real sense of family.

In 2001, shortly after September 11th, my mother dropped her body and my OT levels had been paid for some time. I arrived at AOLA and began, going straight through from R6EW to OT V, completing in September 2002.

All along the way, I saw more and more outpoints. And now, to see our church be so off the rails with regards to finance policy deeply saddens me. LRH provided all of us with this beautiful tech, and it is being misapplied by Chairman of the Board, David Miscavige.

This is unconscionable for me.

Whether any of these outpoints are true for you, you have to determine that. But, outside of the Ideal Org program, here are some additional outpoints I began to observe:

1.       For many years, at major events, none of the usual Int’l Management Executives shared the stage with COB as they formerly had been. They used to be part of every program.

2.       There is a distinct upper strata structure that LRH laid out to provide checks and balances within the organization, which would include these International Executives. Where are they?

3.       Has RTC (Religious Technology Center), Church of Scientology Int’l (CSI) and Church of Spiritual Technology (CST) been un-mocked and collapsed? Is David Miscavige chairing them all?  http://www.savescientology.com/

4.       Heber Jentzch, the President of the Church of Scientology. Where is he? He had not been seen in many years, and he has to be nearing 75 years in age. He didn’t die, so where is he?

5.       Saint Hill-size orgs were popular in the 1990’s which provided for orgs to build their staff and public ranks to the size of Saint Hill Org in the UK. ASHO in Los Angeles achieved this status for a brief segment in time in the late 90’s. What happened with this program? And why was it disbanded?

6.       I noticed there aren’t Class VIII auditors produced as before? Why?

7.       I was at Flag in the mid 90’s and at that time, there were several Class XII auditors that LRH trained. I can’t find any of them now. Where are they?

If any of this has resonated in any way with you, please check for yourself some of the key stats in your local org. Observe them for yourself on the OIC board – which is the stat board that HCO keeps posted in plain view or should.

1.       NNCF – New Names to Central Files. These come from Books sold to new people or new people arriving for first service at a mission or org.

2.       BIS – Bodies in the shop. This would be of interest with regards to both Division 6 (new people) as well as Division 2 (returning public).

Observe for yourself and if these stats are up trending in your org? And if the #’s are sufficient for viability?

To ensure survival, LRH finance policy must be applied and applied standardly. This means monies come from a well-oiled operational org that delivers services in such abundance, making more money than the org can waste.  These abundances are channeled into the Reserves Accounts and the Building Fund account.

Then when repairs are needed for everyday operations OR a new phase of expansion, which could include renovations to the existing structure or a new structure, the monies are available, as there has been complete adherence to proper finance policy along the way, thus ensuring  the infrastructure is in place to facilitate the expansion. LRH gave us the tech and the road map to ensure stability both in terms of monies, structure, staff and public.  When followed, true expansion occurs and all is stable.

However, the caveat is that orgs take orders from International Management. Now, that is a single individual – David Miscavige.

Please “Look, don’t listen”.  Whether your reality is similar to mine or light-years different – from this point forward, I invite you to look closer.  Check out things further – allow no carte blanche acceptance.

In no way am I discrediting all the wonderful Scientologists, both staff and public that I have come to know along the way — some incredibly lovely people that I love dearly, including the staff members who devote their lives to this cause.

But under the current leader, we have lost LRH’s Church to “Miscavige’s Church”. It is no longer the LRH that we once knew and loved, and therefore, I cannot continue to show support.

Recently, on national television, Tommy Davis, the Church’s spokesperson, said that it was false that the church’s policy was that you had to give up your friends if you chose to leave the church.

You now have that choice. I will always keep my comm lines open to any of you who wish to call me that cherished word, friend.

My decision is made. Please respect and grant beingness. It is my wish that each of us flourish and prosper. That is my plan, and I will be moving along with the correct application of the LRH conditions to achieve that.

Love and warm wishes,

Kay

Michael Fairman – OTVII The Price Of Freedom

January 22, 2011

Dear Friends,

What follows is a series of events, observations and conclusions related to my relationship with officials and parishioners of the Church of Scientology. The events are true as I remember them; the observations and conclusions my own.

On Sunday morning, January 16, 2011, at about 11 AM, I was visited by my friend to discuss a film script we had written. The appointment for my friend and I to meet was made by us the night before.

When I opened the door, I was surprised to see that my friend was accompanied by Mr. Tommy Davis (The Church of Scientology’s Director of Public Affairs) and Mr. Michael Sutter (Scientology’s Office of Special Affairs) both dressed in their Sea Org uniforms.

The three wanted to have a conversation about a serious matter concerning my well-being. I asked them to leave, saying I was not interested in discussing anything with them at this time.  But Mr. Davis and my friend insisted, and we continued to converse on my door step.

Mr. Davis explained that the matter of great importance and concern was the fact that I had been audited by a member of a squirrel group in Texas; and that this had to be addressed and handled immediately.  Since I had told no one about my trip, I asked him how he came to know of it. He replied that he “just knew”. He also “knew” that I had posted the wins and extraordinarily positive experience from this auditing under a pseudonym on a blog written by a declared SP.

Had they surveilled me? Had they taken photos or video of my visit? How did they know that the pseudonym was me?  Mr. Davis said he “just knew”

Again I asked the three to leave.

Mr Davis then showed me a reference that indicated  I had committed a suppressive act by being audited by the SP; that I was audited without the back-up of an Org i.e.. proper C/S’ ing, Examiner, Ethics Officer, and without access to previous PC folders, was totally off policy and dangerous. Then he showed me a Declare Order on goldenrod that indicated I was a Suppressive Person. I asked Mr. Davis if he thought I was a suppressive person. He said no, but that I had strayed off the path and had to find my way back as soon as possible.

My friend likened me to Shakespeare’s  Othello, who was being manipulated by Iago.  (Iago’s third partying results in Othello murdering his own bride,  Desdemona). The tone, in which she expressed this to me was a hostile one. She had never used it in all the years we’d known each other, and it both surprised, angered and then saddened me.

Once again I asked them to leave but they would not.

Mr. Davis then continued by saying I could be sued for the amount of money (parishioner’s money) that it would cost the Church to re-shoot the films I had made with Golden Era Studios, just as Larry Anderson and Jason Beghe had been sued. (I later learned that the threatened suits against them were never initiated)

The suit and the Declare Order would not happen, Mr Davis said,  if I came to my senses and accompanied them immediately to an Org, and began an “A to E” program to get back into the good graces of the Church. I emphatically refused.

I told them that I had been researching points of view expressed on various blogs, books and videos which severely take to task the current management of the Church; that I’d spoken to Sea Org members and public who had personally experienced abuses by management personnel, and the alteration and disregard of LRH policy and technology.

I explained I had also researched the Church’s point of view by reading various articles, watching videos and raising questions in D of P’s and with an Ethics terminal; and I’d read articles and watched videos attempting to rebut the charges made by the above disaffected Scientologists; and that I had spent twenty-seven years in the Church taking numerous courses and solo auditing for ten years on OT VII.

My conclusion, I told Mr. Davis and the others, was, that after nearly two years of research and study,  I believed that the Church is not functioning as LRH would have it;  and that my questions had not adequately been answered.

Mr. Davis said he would answer all my questions if they could come into my home. I said I did not want to do that at this time; that I had to prepare myself with the data I had researched and I would meet with him alone at 8 PM that evening at CC Int. He said that Mr. Sutter had to be there as well and I agreed, giving him my word that I would be there. The three then left.

After they had gone I began to reflect on what had just occurred; that I had actually been ambushed by my friend of thirty years, and two very important members of the Church; that I’d been shown an SP Declare Order that had been printed up even before I had been given evidence of what I had done.

In the interim my ex-wife, Joy called (we have remained very close).  I discussed what had just happened with her and in our two-way comm cycle I realized I was not ready to meet with Mr. Davis and Mr. Sutter, and breaking my word,  canceled.

Later that afternoon I learned that my sister-in-law who is on OT VII in Florida was already informed about my visit to Texas and that I had canceled the meeting at CC Int. Needless to say it was quite a stressful Sunday.

Monday afternoon I received a call from another friend (my best friend) a Scientologist, whom I’ve known for twenty-five years. He asked if it were true that I had left the Church. I said yes and he asked if he could come to my home and discuss it with me. I said he could, if he came alone. He promised he would. Later that day he arrived and we began to talk. Not ten minutes  later there was a knock on the door –  it was Tommy Davis and two more friends. I asked them all to leave but they persuaded me to let them stay.

The ensuing conversation was about how much they cared about me; how wrong I was in attacking the Church because of my visit to the squirrel group and the subsequent posting of my wins; how I was throwing away the best thing in my life and would regret it for the rest of my life; and that the squirrel SP, and others I mentioned were evil in their intention to destroy the Church.

Again there was a knock on the door. Three other friends had arrived, and I was told there were two more on the way. Now very angry, I insisted that the conversation be ended , if the others did not leave. They did.

The conversation inside continued. I showed them letters written by Luis Garcia, the Schick’s,the Lugli’s and the Minelli’s from Italy, and Hy Levy. I said I had read books by the Headleys and Jeff Hawkins. I asked how could they ALL be SP’s?  The response was that they were either lying or insane, and under the control of the SP I had visited in Texas.

I had had it and did not want these people in my home. So after threatening to call the police, I finally got them to leave. I again promised I would meet with Davis and one of the friends the next day.

After they left, a major mass lifted from my universe, I felt I could breathe again. Being slammed with their attitudes and fixed viewpoints was causing physical and mental suppression. Not once did any of them acknowledge that I had a viewpoint. One of them warned that being mid OT VII would now open me up to god knows what dangers; that I had reached for the reactive instead of the analytic points of view. It had been a continual bombardment of invalidation.

Since I stopped Solo’ing in 2004`, my life has flourished across the Dynamics; and my four days of auditing with the “SP” had handled areas of my life which had been bugged for years. I was feeling freer spiritually, emotionally and physically than I had felt in years. And now this.

I decided not to meet with Davis,  and in a phone call told him (1) I was definitely not coming back to the Church (2) I would not post my letter (this one) or any other comments attacking the Church (3) that my wife, daughter and I had to be left alone. Davis told me he understood, but that we would have to “wrap up the cycle”.

I discussed this with my family and others and we realized what wrapping up the cycle would mean. It was obvious that because of our points of view and our decision, we were already considered enemies of the Church, by  Church officials and by our friends. And since we were not going to return that consideration would remain.

We also believed that “wrapping up the cycle” would possibly mean signing some sort of statement and we were not willing to do that. So we decided to end any discourse between ourselves, Church officials and those people who would be arguing for us to return.

It was quite a Tuesday.

On Friday at my place of work, a television studio,  I met a friend and co-worker, a Scientologist, who I have known for about 20 years. I assumed this friend, a woman, had already been made aware of my status in the Church. Seeing the look on my face, she asked what was wrong. I said I did not want to bring it up at work but she insisted.

Reluctantly I related  that I had left the Church, and what had happened on Sunday and Tuesday. She seemed patient and interested and willing to listen, but  the conversation was interrupted. Before we resumed a while later, I asked her to please stop me if and when she began to feel the slightest enturbulation. She said she could take it and would I go ahead.

I began speaking about the research which had brought me to my decision. When I drew the distinction between LRH and his technology, and the current management of the Church, which I have come to believe was corrupt, she instantly transformed into another person. I was now the “enemy” attacking her life and everything she believed in. The more I tried to explain why I had come to my conclusions, the more savage her attack became. She said I needed to stop and that I was “not there” and that every remark I was making was covertly hostile. Then she made a most bizarre statement — “You” (meaning me), she said, “now have an enemy at work”. It was said with such venom, I was stunned.  She made another brief but equally bizarre series of comments about always being my friend and she left. The comment about work was handled immediately with the proper terminals.

So there you have six days of entheta and counting.

Regarding my refusal to have the conversation Mr. Davis wanted Sunday morning and later that day:

The Code of Honor, The Creation of Human Ability  LRH
#8   “Do not give or receive communication unless you yourself desire it”
#14 “Be you own advisor, keep you own counsel and select you own decisions.”

Regarding my two year study of various points of view posted on the internet, published in books and discussed in various videos and tape recordings:

HCO PL 7 February 1965 LRH
KSW Series 1, Keeping Scientology Working
“Look, don’t listen”

Code of a Scientologist  LRH
10 “To work for freedom of speech in the world”.
11 “To actively decry the suppression of knowledge, wisdom, philosophy or data which would help mankind”

The Phoenix Lectures, 1954 LRH
“(People) learn to keep their mouths shut, and it’s the wrong lesson. When in doubt, talk. When in doubt, communicate…you’ll be successful all the way along the line if you just remember that.”

I am referring to the information being disseminated on the blogs.

Technical Bulletin, Confront LRH
“If one can confront he can be aware. If he is aware, he can perceive and act. If he can’t confront, he will not be aware of things and will be withdrawn and not perceiving. Thus he is unaware of the things around him.”

Technical Bulletin, Personal Integrity
“What is true for you is what you have observed yourself. And when you lose that, you have lost everything. What is personal integrity? Personal integrity is knowing what you know–And to have the courage to know and say what you have observed–and sufficient personal belief and confidence in self and courage that we can observe what we observe and say what we have observed.”

Universal Declaration of Human Rights
Article #19 “Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers”

The Creed of the Church of Scientology LRH
“That all men have inalienable rights to think freely; to talk freely; to write freely their own opinions and to counter or utter or write upon the opinions of others.”

Thomas Jefferson
“The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.”

Ron Hubbard
“The price of freedom: Constant alertness. Constant willingness to fight back. There is no other price.”

What I have learned over the past two years is that many hundreds of people, good people, both public and staff, OT VII’s and VIII’s, Sea Org members, highly classed auditors, who have devoted decades to helping people, who have contributed financially and their expertise to the delivery and expansion of LRH’s Scientology have found grievous faults with the church’s management. They say it is no longer LRH’s church and I have come to believe them.

Regarding my being audited by a squirrel and SP:

Since I had concluded that the Church was being mismanaged and that portions of the tech had been altered; and I hadn’t been audited or solo’d  in a number of years, I decided to go elsewhere for a session. I thought long and hard about this and after thoroughly researching his qualifications, decided to visit an auditor outside the Church, who I believed was qualified to handle me.

The auditing I received from him was spectacular. The sessions were like gentle conversations, easy and light, generally ending with lots of laughter from the PC. Long standing case phenomena in four areas were handled that were  never handled during my road to Clear and during the  years I spent auditing through the OT levels including a decade on Solo NOTS. The wins continue to be stable attested to by Joy and my daughter Sky who say they have never seen me so light and operating with such high ARC. It was a magical four days.

Code of a Scientologist LRH
“As a Scientologist, I pledge myself to the Code of Scientology for the good of all…
12.  to support the freedom of religion.”

The Creed of the Church of Scientology LRH
“That all men have inalienable rights to conceive, choose, assist or support their own  organizations, churches and governments.”

The Constitution of the United States, Amendment 1
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble; and to petition the government for redress of grievances.”

Regarding my auditor having no Org to provide PC folders, C/S’ing and end of session examination:

There is a site on which you can learn the qualifications of my auditor, and why he was assigned by Mr. Miscavige to audit Tom Cruise among other Scientology celebrities; and who was permitted to wear the hat of C/S, Examiner and Ethics Officer. I will send the site to you if you wish.

If I had the slightest sliver of doubt regarding my conclusions (which I do not) about what the current Church of Scientology has become, that doubt would have been dispelled Sunday — spying on me; officials show up at my door without warning, and albeit in a civil tone, threatening and intimidating  me with a law suit and expulsion, warnings of consequences to my friends and family — if I did not come back to the “path from which I have strayed”. Officials who have, even before they arrived at my door, informed friends and family of my “transgressions”? , What kind of Church is that? Is this what LRH intended?

LRH wrote in HCOB PL 7 February 1965, Keeping Scientology Working Series I:

“So the ogre which might eat us up is not the government or the High Priests, It’s our possible failure to retain and practice our technology.”

And this excerpt  by LRH from the Anatomy of the Spirit of Man Congress  Lecture #15 What is Scientology Doing? 6 June 1955

“As I look into the future, I see that we are handling here material of a potential control and command over mankind which must not be permitted at any time to become the monopoly or the tool of the few to the danger and disaster of the many…”

“And I believe the freedom of the material which we know and understand is guaranteed only by lightness of organization, a maximum of people, good training and good, reliable, sound relay of information. And if we can’t do these things, sooner or later the information which we hold will become the property of an untrustworthy few. This I am sure because it has always happened this way…”

Regarding the conversations Tuesday and Friday:

All the above references.

Some observations:

Whenever David Miscavige was spoken of negatively, the response of every Scientologist who appeared in this drama, was virtually identical — an attack ranging in tone levels from antagonism to covert hostility, and the stopping of any further comments.

Davis and some of the friends use of the tech robotically to stifle any portion of any point of view I might have contrary to their beliefs. There was not one iota of acknowledgement by anyone of the remotest possibility that there could be corruption at the highest levels of management.

They asserted the absolute rightness of their position regarding possible corruption of management and asserted the absolute wrongness of myself or  anyone who dares to believe that corruption exists. The people I encountered seem to have the unshakeable belief that L. Ron Hubbard, his technology, the Church of Scientology and David Miscavige are all one, so that LRH as Source equals David Miscavige as Source.  Insanity is “the inability to associate and differentiate properly” (Scientology 8-8008); sanity is “the ability to recognize differences, similarities and identities” (HCO PL 26 April 70R)

My conclusions:

I love and respect LRH as a friend and philosopher because the truth and wisdom of his ideas  has bettered my life and the lives of countless others. My argument is not with him or his work. I will defend him and the technology with all my being. My argument is with what the Church has become and how it now operates. Like the vast majority of those who have left, I will always be a Scientologist and endeavor to better the conditions of those around me with the use of that technology. My purpose is not to undermine or nullify LRH or his true legacy.

My friendship with those of you who have spoken with me this past week, and others whom I have known and cared about over the years, is not based on the policies or dictates of the Church; and if my change of heart regarding my membership in it causes us to separate, so be it. That makes me very sad. Sad because it is dictated that you take what I have done as a personal attack and betrayal.  I can only say, and I have looked at this very seriously and as truthfully as I am able, that were the situation reversed, I would remain true to you — because to me, that is the profound meaning of friendship.

I do not wish to be part of an organization which on the one hand, states its purpose to be the betterment of Mankind by improving the life of each individual, and on the other,  has its members behave in such a vicious and destructive manner; an organization which cannot tolerate a concerted and fair look into the possibility of corruption after so many credible observers have publicly stated that it exits; an organization which has created an environment in which dissent and opposition results in vituperation and the ripping apart of family and friends; therefore I resign from the Church of Scientology and do not wish to be contacted by anyone representing the church, whether officially or otherwise in order to “salvage” me.

Dear Friends,

For a thetan there are two very essential rights: One is the right to his own sanity, and the other is the right to leave a game.” LRH, PDC, Dec 3rd1952

Ken and Yvonne Schick hereby announce that we are withdrawing our support and leaving the organization of the Church of Scientology.

We know that we have both benefited from auditing and training we have received.  We respect L. Ron Hubbard and believe that his intention to help his fellow man was sincere.  We still consider ourselves Scientologists in that our spiritual beliefs about the nature of man and relationship with his fellow man and the universe are consistent with the principles of Scientology.  Furthermore, we will continue the application of Scientology in our daily lives.

We know that the staffs at all the orgs are filled with very caring, very dedicated individuals who would do anything to help their fellow man.

Some of you receiving this are our closest friends in the world with whom we have shared play time, work, the ups and downs and joys of life.  We realize that this decision will mean the end of our friendship with some.   We will let you decide if that is your own determinism or one enforced upon you by others.

All of that said, we can no longer support what we feel the organization has become under the leadership of David Miscavige.  We feel that LRH started a church for the purpose of bringing spiritual freedom to man and that Mr. Miscavige has morphed it into something else entirely that appears to be mostly about money and his personal aggrandizement.  We have each personally experienced the “forbidden cognition”: that our church is declining, that there is an SP behind that decline, and that the SP is David Miscavige.

There has been no single incident or source that brought us to this point.  Rather it has been years of personal experiences along with observation of events and data that finally started coming together.   For most of the last 20 years, any doubts or reservations we had were categorized as something that would get handled eventually.  We began to violate our own sense of personal decency and core values in order to be “on board”, “KSW-in”, members of the team.

More recently, we decided we must resolve our doubt and our evaluation led us to conclude that Miscavige has grossly altered LRH tech, has focused the largest percentage of the activity of the group on fundraising in one form or another, is intent on milking every dime out of every member, and (quite frankly) has gone psychotic.  For any of you who want to know more about how we came to the decision, we suggest you think for yourself and look for yourself starting with the websites that report information Mr. Miscavige does not want you to have.  We were especially moved by the letter written by OT VIII Luis Garcia.  He did a very thorough job of documenting the exact points that were there for us.  We recommend reading Luis’ letter; A Letter From Garcia.  We also recommend: Friends of LRH, Leaving Scientology, and Marty Rathbun’s blog.

Our decision is made.  We do not welcome any handling from anyone who might feel so inclined or be so directed.  If anyone shows up at our home unannounced and uninvited, we will assume it can only be a “mission” and you will be asked to leave with no further discussion.  That said, we are not cutting our communication lines or disconnecting from anyone who wants to call us friend.

We do not know if retaliation will be unleashed against us.  One factor that motivated us was the malicious attacks we saw against people who decided to leave the group.  Perhaps you will be told how very “evil” we are.  Perhaps information we gave in session or to an MAA assuming confidentially will be broadcast.  Ask yourself, “What kind of church does this?”

To those of you who already know this just is not what LRH intended, we hope that our leap will give you courage to do the same for your own peace of mind.

To those of you who want to leave but feel trapped by family and business relationships, our hearts go out to you.  Keep looking, stay true to your personal integrity, and you will find a way.

To those of you who remain loyal to Miscavige’s org, we ask that you simply LOOK.  Just like LRH advised us.  Look at the real results, not the PR.  Look at the effects being created in the general public.  It has been a downhill ride since that man took over LRH’s church.

We are grateful to the bold men and women who have had the courage to leave the church run by Miscavige and then speak out publicly so that the truth is told.  We appreciate that there are committed individuals who want to keep alive LRH’s purpose and technology for helping others.

We wish all of you the brightest of New Year’s with all of the spiritual freedom you have dreamed of for the ages.  “Flourish and prosper.” LRH, The Way to Happiness.

Sincerely,  Ken and Yvonne Schick

Luis Garcia OT VIII, CL IV, Gold Seal Ethics Specialist, IAS Patron – Letter To David Miscavige

November 6th, 2010

Mr. David Miscavige, COB RTC <———–
______________________________________

Luis A. Garcia, Public Scientologist

Mr. Miscavige,

My name is Luis Garcia. I became a member of the Church of Scientology in 1982 at Orange County, CA. From the very first moment, I developed an intense interest in reading, studying, learning, and applying the teachings of Mr. L. Ron Hubbard. I wanted to go up The Bridge, and I wanted to help others do so as well.

Throughout the years, I have taken many courses and received a lot of auditing, becoming an interned Class IV auditor, a Gold Seal Ethics Specialist, a graduate of the PTS/SP course, and also completed the Basics Book and Lectures among numerous other courses. I am New OT VIII, a Patron of the IAS, a Founding Member of Super Power, a Gold Humanitarian of the Orange County Org, a Supporter of ASI and a contributor to many other Orgs, libraries, causes and projects.

I have learned much and I have had great gains from my involvement with Scientology. I have the utmost respect and gratitude to LRH, and to all the staff across the globe that selflessly dedicate their lives to help others, and the many devoted public who have helped so much.

I am first and foremost a Scientologist; i.e.: “One who betters the conditions of himself and the conditions of others by using Scientology technology.” – LRH, Aud 73.

I have made it a practice to adopt stable data as I learned them in Scientology and found them to be workable and true. One stable datum I adopted early on from The Code of Honor is: “Never compromise with your own reality.”

Another one, is: “Look, don’t listen.”

I took these and many other data to heart and I used them as guiding posts in my travels through Life.

“WHAT IS TRUE FOR YOU is what you have observed yourself.

And when you lose that, you have lost everything.

What is personal integrity?

Personal integrity is knowing what you know —

…And to have the courage to know and say what you have observed.

… And sufficient personal belief and confidence in self

And courage that we can observe what we observe

And say what we have observed.

Nothing in Dianetics and Scientology is true for you

Unless you have observed it

And it is true according to your observation.

That is all.”

Ability, Issue 125
February 1961
(Tech Vol. VI, p. 23)

In following the above I must state I have found Scientology to be true. I have found LRH to speak the truth. I have also found to be true hundreds, yes hundreds, of horror stories I have heard and read about from current and former members of our church, telling a sad tale of abuse, alteration and misapplication of the Tech, heavy-handed ethics, malfeasance, lies, out-ethics, extortion, blackmail, harassment, enforced realities and just plain viciousness.

I too have experienced my own “horror story” with the church, which I will not bother to elaborate on as it pales in comparison to others’ experiences. Furthermore, as CAUSE that I am, I take responsibility for it happening in the first place. My communication to you today is more about an objective view of the current state of affairs in our church.

As I understand it, you are the complete leader and decision maker for our church. I also understand that all projects, programs, etc., are under your direct control and that you order and approve all of them. In other words, you run everything in the church.  Every Scientologist knows without a doubt you are The Boss.

This is an important point, because as LRH said: “The primary aberration in situations that are being mishandled is: The person is unable to recognize Source.” HCO PL 23 April 1965, Issue 3, Problems.

Well, I do recognize you as Source. Not as Source of Scientology, of course. But as Source of everything that is happening with the church today. Here are some points:

1. The Ideal Org strategy is flawed and it is in violation of LRH’s policy.

Public all over the world are being pushed to donate, in many cases beyond their means, for the purchase of large and expensive buildings and their lavish renovations. This is wrong on so many fronts it is appalling.

1. This violates the three conditions of existence, BE, DO, HAVE, and it creates a must-have before we can do or be. I often read promo promising “the Ideal Org will boom the Org.” This is just not true and it is observable at the existing Ideal Orgs, which have not expanded in terms of new public, more students and more PCs.

2. The Ideal Org strategy shifts the focus of importance from Service to a building.

3. The Ideal Org strategy extracts “donations” from public, reducing their resources and ability to donate for their own Bridge. In many extreme cases, they end up saddled with a huge debt that totally removes any hope of ever being able to “go OT.”

4. “All Orgs must go Ideal” even violates the most basic and common sense principles of business. Many of the Orgs are not viable, have not enough staff, nor students or PCs, and are, quite obviously, floundering and empty of public. Yet, they are being ordered to expand into quarters much larger and much more expensive to maintain, before they have the natural need to expand into larger quarters.

Case in point, my own Org, Orange County, has paid $2,500 in property taxes annually. Since the new “Ideal Org” building was purchased in 2006, they have been paying over $65,000. And the building is still empty, as “more funds are needed to renovate it.” When the projected $7.5 million is spent on the renovations, the property taxes will go up to about $140,000 annually. This is a 5,600% increase of just this one expense, but in addition they will have much higher utilities and maintenance bills.

These are some LRH references on this matter, which I am sure you are familiar with, but choose to ignore:

“We own a tremendous amount of property. We own a tremendous amount of material, and so forth. And it keeps growing. But that’s not important.

When buildings get important to us, for God’s sake, some of you born revolutionists, will you please blow up central headquarters.

Don’t get interested in real estate. Don’t get interested in the masses of buildings, because that’s not important.”

“…In twenty years an enormous amount of experience has been gained regarding the quarters and housing of orgs. From this experience there are only a few clear-cut lessons. These follow:

“A. VIABILITY of the org… is the first and foremost consideration… not how posh or what repute or what image.”

“C. Image is a secondary consideration.”

HCO PL 23 Sept 1970

LRH The Auditor #51, 1970
What Your Donations Buy

“If the org slumps… don’t engage in ‘fund-raising’ or ‘selling postcards’ or borrowing money.

Just make more income with Scientology.

It’s a sign of very poor management to seek extraordinary solutions for finance outside Scientology.  It has always failed.

“For orgs as for pcs, ‘Solve It With Scientology’.

Every time I myself have sought to solve financial or personnel in other ways than Scientology I have lost out. So I can tell you from experience that org solvency lies in More Scientology, not patented combs or fund-raising barbeques.”

(OEC Vol. 7, p. 930)

2. You are lying to the public with stories of “Unprecedented Expansion” by using squirrel stats in violation of LRH’s policy.

LRH emphasized time and again that there is only one way to gauge the expansion of Scientology:

“The most direct observation in an org (or a country) is statistics. These tell of production. They measure what is done.

It cannot be said too often that management is best done by statistics.

…Run only by statistics.”

HCO PL 5 February 1970
Statistics, Management by
(OEC Vol. 7, p. 514)

“Stat management is the only kind of management you can do on a production scene. Management by statistics was brought to a fine art in Scientology admin tech. To discredit it is, of course, to court failure.

HCO PL 20 September 1976-1

(OEC Vol. 0, p. 696)

“By actual experience working and managing in many activities, I can state flatly that the most dangerous worker-manager thing to do is to work or manage from something else than statistics.”

HCO PL 7 July 1970

“Therefore the only organization that is a sound organization is one WHOSE EVERY ACTIVITY can be tabulated by statistics.”

“NEVER RUN OR MANAGE BY ANYTHING BUT STATS.”

HCO PL 15 April 1982, Issue II
Finance Series 29, The Counting of Gross Income
(OEC Management Series Vol. 2, p. 374)

LRH clearly lays out the 2 major stats for Scientology Orgs:

“Orgs have only 2 major final valuable products. One is well-trained auditors. The other is satisfied pcs.

…Tech and Admin policy exist only to assist making these two products IN VOLUME.”

LRH ED 131 INT

“The individual statistic of any organization (except SH) is:

HOW MANY TRAINED AUDITORS EXIST IN ITS AREA.

The individual statistic of Saint Hill is:

HOW MANY TRAINED AUDITORS ARE THERE IN THE WORLD.”

HCO PL 4 October 1967, Issue I
Auditor and Org Individual Stats
(OEC Vol. 4, p. 118)

The training of auditors is, therefore, the single most important activity in Scientology, and its statistic is the single strongest indicator of the success or failure of Scientology management. But you don’t give any stats on these!

LRH also spells out, in numerous policies and bulletins, why auditor training is the senior product of all orgs and a must for all Scientologists:

“When you, as an auditor, accomplish your mission with a single preclear, you increase your confidence and your general ability, you increase your capability and what you can do for the universe at large and you win.”

The Auditor, 1968
You As An Auditor
(Tech Vol. VIII, p. 169)

“Getting to be an excellent auditor is a must if one merely wishes to live. But one dynamic isn’t enough. It takes all the dynamics to make a freedom. Therefore, to be Clear is not enough. To be a cleared auditor and to handle and audit people is a must if we wish to be totally free.”

Ability Mag., Issue #72
Late April, 1958
(Tech Vol. IV, p. 329)

“As an auditor you can do something about life, you can confront it and have a much wider, broader view of life and people than any person, regardless of their state of case, who is not an auditor.”

The Auditor, 1968
You As An Auditor
(Tech Vol. VIII, p. 169)

“It is surely, surely true that nobody will make OT without training.”

HCO P/L 17 March 1965 Issue I
Clearing and Training
(OEC Vol. 4, p. 614)

The system you replace it with is made up of unquantifiable generalities (“broad-scale impact out there”, “every ethnic, religious, and national concern on Earth”), and therefore cannot be managed by an actual statistic.

“Even the manner in which we gauge our expansion has utterly changed. In previous years it focused on our internal statistics. Today our expansion is measured by broad-scale impact out there, helping cities, states, and entire nations.”

IAS 21st Anniversary celebration, 2005
(reprinted in Impact issue #112, p. 52)

“Our expansion is no longer gauged by what takes place inside our churches. Rather, our expansion is now such that it is gauged across every ethnic, religious, and national concern on Earth.”

LRH Birthday Celebration; March 2006
(reprinted in Scientology News, issue #33, p. 48)

Thus, according to you, LRH’s way of measuring expansion (“internal statistics”) is now old and no longer used.

You have introduced a wide array of new statistics to Scientology. These are often highlighted at events, along with large graphs of “highest evers,” as evidence of Scientology’s “expansion.” Some of these stats, as featured in Scientology News issues # 33 through#40, include:

“People helped”
“Hours on OT projects”
“Ideal Org Fundraising”
“Volunteer hours in building orgs”
“Population of cities with new groups”
“Number of citizens aware of Human Rights”
“Shopping Malls playing our Human Rights PSAs”
“Number of dirt particles removed during film restoration”
“Number of miles of distraction-free voyages”
“Number of terabytes of processing memory”
“Inches of press”
“Square feet of book cover cloth”
“Feet of lamination”

You have also invented some “Future stats” and this is, of course, a contradiction in terms, since statistics by definition measure production already done:

“A statistic is a number or amount compared to an earlier number or amount of the same thing. Statistics refer to the quantity of work done or the value of it in money.

A down statistic means that the current number is less than it was.

An up statistic means the current number is more than it was.

We operate on statistics.”

HCO PL 16 December 1965, Issue II
Organization of the Int Exec Division—Statistics of the International Executive Division
(OEC Vol. 7, p. 89)

LRH on future stats:

“When you first inspect an area for products, you just look… Don’t listen to how they are going to get 150 products; just look and walk around with a clipboard…

…If you don’t see receipts for 150 shipped products, they don’t exist and never have… Products that are only in people’s heads don’t exist.

Dreams are nice—in fact they are essential in life—but they have to be materialized into the physical universe before they exist as products.”

HCOB 23 August 1979R
Issue III Product Debug Series 1R—Debug Tech
(Tech Vol. XI, p. 507)

At nearly every international event of recent times, you have touted what can only be called “future stats.” Usually stated in reference to some new Ideal Org, your wording has included “potential for…”, “can fit up to…”, “will be able to handle…”, and “with a capacity exceeding…”

Example: “The new test center for Tampa Org can handle 155 raw public at any given time.”

3. You have created organizational chaos by double-hatting every staff member in violation of LRH’s policy.

Following the release of the Golden Age of Knowledge in March, 2005, you gave every staff and Sea Org member a stiff quota for the selling of Congresses to the public.

You then increased the pressure to sell exponentially after the release of the Basics at the Maiden Voyage Anniversary Event in June 2007.

As Public Scientologists, we found ourselves inundated with phone calls and unexpected visits to our homes by staff members, including in some instances by our own auditors and MAAs. I even received a “request” to meet with the Vice President of CSI for a “confidential” briefing, which turned out to be an attempt to sell me yet more Basics packages. Similarly, I received numerous phone calls from the Freewinds; in one call the phone was passed from person to person as in a production line, as I kept on declining the “invitation” to donate; and when it finally got to the end of the line, it was the CO herself trying to get me to donate to the Library campaign.

The net effect of this new tactic has been the transforming of every Scientology staff member, from the top of the org board on down, into a reg.

The above is in direct violation of several LRH policies:

“Organization consists of certain people doing certain jobs.

Disorganization consists of each person wearing all hats regardless of assignment.

In a smooth organization that runs well and succeeds

EACH PERSON WEARS HIS OWN ASSIGNED HAT.

…SO LONG AS EACH KNOWS AND WEARS AND WORKS AT HIS OWN HAT ONLY, THINGS WILL BE SMOOTH.”

HCO PL 1 July 1965, Issue III
Hats, The Reason For
(OEC Vol 0, p. 196)

“If you want a higher level of dissemination and a higher unit or salary, the way to obtain them is simple.

1. Do your own job.

2. Insist that the other staff member do his—but don’t do it for him or her.

Even if an executive asks you to do somebody else’s job—don’t. Say, instead, “Am I transferred?” If the answer is no, tell him to get lost. I’ll back you up.”

HCO PL 11 April 1961
How To Do a Staff Job
(OEC Vol 0, p. 232)

4. You have squelched the self-determinism of Scientologists in violation of LRH’s policy.

Since the earliest days of Dianetics and Scientology, LRH has emphasized integrity and self-determinism as qualities central to a being. After LRH’s departure in the mid 1980s, however, more and more actions once considered a matter of personal choice became the object of orders and threats.

Following your inspection of the Solo NOTs line at Flag in 2005, and again in 2006, a series of FSO EDs were published. Each added a new item to the growing list of “mandatory”s, especially for Solo NOTs auditors:

1) Mandatory event attendance:

“Flag Scientologists are counted upon to attend all International Scientology events—no exceptions.”

FSO ED 8763
17 April 2007

2) Mandatory FSMing:

“Get 2 people onto Solo NOTs. When at Flag for your six-month check, you will be asked about this by your MAA and what we are looking for is compliance.”

FSO ED 8782
24 May 2007

3) Mandatory IAS Patron status:

“That’s why…you must become a PATRON OF THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SCIENTOLOGISTS. This is the minimum expected status.”

FSO ED 8432
18 January 2006

These are in addition to previous orders for mandatory OT Committee membership and mandatory Ideal Org participation.

The actual ethical requirements for Clears and OTs are covered in such policies as An Open Letter to All Clears and OT Courses. Neither these nor any other LRH reference tell the pre-OT how he must contribute in order to be eligible for OT Levels. By issuing these and other “mandatory”s you actually invalidated those of us who willingly were contributing.

Furthermore, you made it a crime for OTs not to attend the International events.

LRH states:

“… if a person is doing his job… ethics is considered to be in and the person is protected by Ethics.”

HCO PL 1 September 1965, Issue VII
Ethics Protection
(OEC Vol. 0, p. 502)

“Orders only occur where responsibility has failed.”

HCO PL 23 January 1968
Orders and Responsibility
(OEC Vol. 0, p. 139)

5. You have burdened OTs with excessive and unwarranted eligibilities and sec-checks in violation of LRH policy.

You invented the six-month refreshers for Solo NOTs auditors in which everyone gets sec-checked. This is a blanket C/S for all the people on Solo NOTs and violates the following LRH policy:

“Because it has not been previously specified whether Confessionals could be done during the Non-Interference Zone, it tended to leave the matter open to interpretation, and a common interpretation has been that one must not do any kind of Confessional or O/W pulling during the Non-Interference Zone.

But what about a case who is out-ethics and not making progress due to continuous overts and withholds or, even worse, undisclosed overts or crimes against Scientology? Such a case won’t make any progress until these are gotten off.

A person who is NCG, nattery, critical or otherwise exhibiting O/Ws or out ethics must be handled so that he can make case gains.

CAUTION

A pre-OT who is running well and making case gain should not be interrupted”

HCOB 8 March 1982
Confessionals nd The Non Interference Zone.

When pre-OTs that are running well and making case gain on Solo NOTs get interrupted and pulled in to FLAG for a “refresher,” at a great cost I may add, the purpose of HCO Sec Checks and the principle of inspection before the fact are also violated:

“The statement ‘I am not auditing you’ only occurs when a Confessional is done for justice reasons… (By ‘justice reasons’ is meant when a person is refusing to come clean on a Comm Ev, B of I, etc., or as part of a specific HCO investigation when the person is withholding data or evidence from such HCO personnel).”

HCOB 30 November 78R
Confessional Procedure
(Tech Vol. XI, p. 359)

“The basic flaw in organization is INSPECTION BEFORE THE FACT. That means inspection before anything bad has happened.

Violations are so harmful that they destroy every great civilization — the Roman, the British, the lot. For every flow is slowed or stopped.

…Passports, customs, safety regulations, general government interference before anything bad has occurred, add up to a SUPPRESSIVE SOCIETY and therefore, soon enough, a dead one.

Penalty after the fact has occurred disciplines the criminals and does not pull down the majority to criminal level.”

HCO PL 6 February 1968
Organization–The Flaw
(OEC Vol. 0, p. 66)

6. You have degraded Study Tech in violation of LRH policy.

There is extensive data on the subject of study and we all understand the importance of applying it properly and leaving no misunderstood words in our studies. LRH states:

“To clear a word, one looks it up in a good dictionary.”

HCOB 23 March 1978RB
Word Clearing Series 59—Clearing Words
(Tech Vol. XI, p. 95)

“Any word you come across which fits one or more of the above definitions of a misunderstood word or symbol must be cleared up, using a good-sized dictionary or more than one dictionary or textbook or encyclopedia.”

HCOB 17 July 1979RB, Issue I
Word Clearing Series 64RB—The Misunderstood Word Defined
(Subject Vol. 2, p. 315)

“A Supervisor who…lets students study without dictionaries and demo kits…and does not fully apply study tech and use Word Clearing is of course suppressive and should be declared, as he is actively blocking Scientologists from having and benefiting from Scientology.”

HCO PL 30 October 1978R
Courses, Their Ideal Scene
(OEC Vol. IV, p. 424)

You however, know better, of course:

“These glossaries are so good, you don’t even need a dictionary.”

On the release of the Congresses at the LRH Birthday celebration, March 13, 2005; same claim repeated at the Basics release, June 2007.

7. You have ordered FLAG to engage in delivery of the lower grades in violation of LRH policy.

It has been know for a while that Missions feed the Orgs, the Orgs feed the AOs, and then there is FLAG, where public arrive to receive their upper Bridge. You have ordered the massive promotion, selling and delivery of Lower Grades at FLAG, bypassing and ripping off Orgs in the process. Furthermore, the main promo button used in this is the speed of delivery at FLAG, which is a technical degrade.

Here is a quotation from a widely-circulated Flag official promotion:

Subject: Completed Grade II, III and IV and started L11 in 10 Days.

Kathy Lackey came to Flag on 4 July 2009 ready to start Grade II. She was gotten right into session and completed Grade II on 8 July.

She then completed Grade III on 10 July.

And by 14 July (just 10 days after arriving to Flag) she completed Grade IV and started her L’s!!!

This is what LRH says:

“Within 5 years after the issue of this PL, with me off the lines, violation had almost destroyed orgs. ‘Quickie grades’ entered in and denied gain to tens of thousands of cases. Therefore actions which neglect or violate this policy letter are HIGH CRIMES resulting in Comm Evs on ADMINSTRATORS and EXECUTIVES.”

HCO PL 7 Feb 1965
Keeping Scientology Working.

And:

“A condition of TREASON or cancellation of certificates or dismissal and a full investigation of the background of any person found guilty will be activated in the case of anyone committing the following HIGH CRIMES…

8. Boasting as to speed of delivery in a session, such as “I put in Grade 0 in 3 minutes”, etc.

9. Shortening time of application of auditing for financial or labor-saving considerations…

The puzzle of the decline of the entire Scientology network in the late 60s is entirely answered by the actions taken to shorten time in study and in processing by deleting materials and actions.”

Soon after, you also ordered the promotion, sale and delivery of TRs and Objectives Co-audits. The latest FLAG Land Base magazine boasts:

“Delivery is out the roof! With over 250 students co-auditing, producing over 1,700 auditing hours each week…”

Meanwhile, such co-audits in my Org are virtually non-existent.

8. You have arbitrarily added prerequisite courses to Auditor training lengthening the time it takes to produce auditors in violation of LRH policy.

When you announced the release of the new Professional TRs Course you also made it a prerequisite for all Academy training. This is just the first in a growing list of prerequisites to auditor training. Others to follow include the new Upper Indocs Course (1991), the new Pro Metering Course (1996), and the Basics (2007).

The effects of an increasingly elongated runway to auditor training are well covered by LRH:

“We’ve had the datum for some time that a student too long on the runway is going to lose the spark and zeal he started out with.”

“New, shorter Level 0-IV checksheets have just been issued. Each checksheet has been stripped down to the key materials the student needs in order to audit that level. Starrates and twin checkouts are not given on these courses.

“The emphasis is on the basics, with tough drilling of the student on the skills of the level he’s studying—and then getting him in the chair!”

9. You invented the “Golden Age of Tech” in violation of LRH policy.

In 1996, with training statistics already faltering worldwide, you released your first major solution to the problem — the Golden Age of Tech. It was here that you announced your now-famous Why:

“The blind have been leading the blind.”

This Why denigrates earlier training, even though the tens of thousands of staff and public who trained during this time period did so on LRH-written (or LRH-approved) checksheets — often with LRH directly on the line.

To this day, you continue to characterize auditors trained prior to 1996 as blind, lost, and deficient in their understanding of Scientology, including the ones trained by LRH.

LRH, however, felt otherwise:

“Excellent auditor training is now in the reach of every Academy.”

The End of Endless Training
(OEC Vol 4, pg 419)

As part of this release, through leading questions and cherry-picked definitions of key words, and by using only one definition of the F/N among the numerous ones there are, we were, for the first time since the development of the meter, led to the understanding that a real F/N must swing at least three times. This definition does not occur anywhere in LRH materials.

“A floating needle is a rhythmic sweep of the dial at a slow, even pace of the needle.

“That’s what an F/N is. No other definition is correct.”

HCOB 21 July 1978

HCOB 21 October 1968R
Floating Needles
(Tech Vol. VIII, p. 258)

This alteration is insidious in the extreme, as auditors worldwide will bypass countless valid F/Ns causing overrun and untold upset. I myself can attest to the frustration of endless eligibilities and my inability to F/N a question I knew to be clean. This alone will interiorize PCs and pre-OTs, will create bypassed charge and will trigger longer auditing requiring many repairs and their consequent intensives.

Furthermore, you had the audacity to proclaim:

“Point One of Keeping Scientology Working is now complete.”

On the release of the Basics at the Maiden Voyage Anniversary Event, June 2007.

Really? Are we to believe that when LRH wrote KSW 1 in 1965 he was lying when he said?

“We have some time since passed the point of achieving uniformly workable technology. The only thing now is getting the technology applied.”

“…One: Having the correct technology.”

“…One above has been done.”

10. You have re-released the Basics and made everyone re-study them in violation of LRH policy.

You altered the importance of the Basics by ordering that ALL Scientologists route onto them as soon as they were released. Academies worldwide were converted into courserooms delivering only Basics courses. Everyone training as an auditor or even those who were in the middle of OT VIII, were arbitrarily forced to route onto these courses on an immediate basis. LRH clearly states the difference between training and reading books:

“You can dawdle around with theory outside an Academy, read books and so on. But in an Academy only can you LEARN certain things, and not all the books in the world will teach them.

…All training should be of student individuals who will audit people…”

HCOB 7 June 1961

(OEC Vol 4, p. 568)

“Theories and processes can be picked up in books and from tapes as well as in classes. Technical skill cannot be picked up anywhere but in an Academy . . . a fact proven by years of observation.”

We are here to train auditors, not to educate them. So just train them.

… You can dawdle around with theory outside an Academy, read books and so on. But in an Academy only can you LEARN certain things, and not all the books in the world will teach them.

… Therefore, all training should not be of a class, for this terminal called a class will never audit anybody. All training should be of student individuals who will audit people, for only an individual student, not a class, will do any auditing.”

In addition to everything stated above, you have committed other crimes and illegal acts, including but not limited to:

- The alteration of LRH policy regarding SO members having children. You have forbidden this, thus thwarting their second dynamic, and offloading loyal SO women that became pregnant, or worse, coerced them to have abortions. This action contributed to numerous divorces as you further suppressed their second dynamic.

- The introduction of executive C/Sing for, and alteration of, policy on the subject of Clear. Since 2002, the majority of former New OT 5s, 7s, and 8s have been adjudicated not Clear. This includes at least 6 public who had attested to Clear under LRH.

- The disappearance from view of senior execs such as President CSI Heber Jentzsch, Ed Int Guillame Lesevre,  WDC Chairman/CO CMO INT Mark Yager, FSO Captain Debbie Cook, Snr C/S Int Ray Mithoff, CO CST Russell Bellin, and COB Assistant Shelly Miscavige, your own wife…

Many of these posts have remained vacant since their disappearance, which would suggest that you have collapsed the entire upper Int management strata and effectively created a dictatorship. Where are these respected, senior veteran members of the Church?

- The destruction of the Mission Network in 1982, at the infamous Missions Conference in which you ousted Martin Samuels, Bent Corydon, and many other Mission Holders of booming missions.

- The reinstatement of the disconnection policy, after LRH cancelled it, and using it as a weapon of fear and extortion.

“Since we can now handle all types of cases, disconnection as a condition is canceled.”

HCO PL 15 November 1968
CANCELLATION OF DISCONNECTION

- The illegal dissolution of the HASI, created by LRH, and replacing it with the IAS.

-  Using the IAS to amass a “war chest” by abusing Scientologists’ native desire to help, but at the same time running the IAS in a way that lacks transparency, and does not fund nearly as many projects as it is capable of, based on the massive donations it collects, week in and week out.

- The misuse of confidential PC folder data to serve your evil purposes.

Conclusions

There have been countless Scientologists writing knowledge reports for many years, reporting instances of out-tech, abuse, injustices, etc. Scientologists have followed the policy laid out by LRH, observed the outnesses, report them… but these situations have failed to resolve. In many cases there would not even be a reply.

As usual, LRH explains this:

“If correctly reported outnesses that threaten the org are NOT corrected, then one assumes that suppression exists.”

Furthermore, this is what LRH says about stats staying down:

“A senior executive is soft in the head if he thinks statistics just stay down. They are always HELD down hard.

Emergencies don’t just happen because someone is idle. Emergencies are made — actively. It takes a lot of counter-effort to jam an org’s flows — if you don’t believe it, then measure it by the effort you exert trying to get things going. What’s pushing back so hard?

Emergencies are made. They don’t just happen. And any hearing in an area where statistics just won’t come up will reveal not mere negligence but actual crimes as well.”

Therefore it is my conclusion, that you, David Miscavige, are a full-blown suppressive, as LRH says “a real monster,” and that you are the one responsible for the decline of the Church and the general unhappiness that exists among the staff and public. It’s easily explainable: you are an SP, the staff and public are PTS to you.

So what is the purpose of this letter?

Firstly to tell you that I am hereby resigning from the Church of Scientology, because you have managed to hijack it and have turned it into a squirrel group. Handling from within is not possible, as you have really made the entire area very PTS, have created a dangerous environment whereby Scientologists routinely engage in thought-stopping, inhibited communication, not-ising and dub-in, and many have snapped terminals with you. I can imagine the piles of Knowledge reports sent to your office every day, and nothing is ever done on them.

I am not, however, resigning from Scientology. I am a firm believer of the philosophy and in fact I am applying it here, now. I will forever be a staunch defender of Scientology and will do my best to keep KSW in.

I am joining the group of Independent Scientologists, which is in fact thriving and truly expanding, and where delivery of LRH Standard Tech is a reality. So, like many others before me, I go.

And one person at a time, much like the drop becomes the trickle, and the trickle becomes the stream, and the stream becomes the river… you shall one day find yourself alone, no one to listen to you, no one to follow you. Alone with your wondrous empty buildings.

Secondly, is to let you know that I know. The blindfold has come off. I know what you’ve done and I know what you are doing. As far as I am concerned, you can take your “Command Intention” and shove it!

And, you know? Eternity is a very long time and it is ahead of us. You may destroy the Church, but you will not destroy Scientology.

I am confronting you today, but you will have to confront me some day and pay for your crimes. And pay you will.

Luis Garcia – Letter To David Miscavige

LRH-Trained Class XII C/S Karen De La Carriere/Jentzsch

We’ve told Miscavige time and again, do not mess with a mother’s nature. Try as we have, he just won’t listen.

He now has Karen De La Carriere/Jentzsch to deal with.  Karen is an empire  builder; she excels at acquiring territory and turf .  She is a true friend to LRH and a legend from the early years of the Sea Org. Today, she is a very successful and influential businesswoman, internationally recognized as a leading expert in her field.  We consider Karen one of our dearest friends and a highly valuable player in the Independence movement.

– Mike and Marty

I have done a huge amount of soul searching and given a lot thought to exiting DM’s “church”. It is not easy to make such a decision to walk away from what has been an integral part of your life for decades.  I had planned to withdraw my support (and stop the considerable flow of funds I had poured into the Church) and remain relatively quiet behind the scenes. But then everything changed, when once again, the Church of MEST decided to try to destroy my family.

Let me provide just a little background to put things in context.

Flagship Apollo

In the early 70′s I traveled to the Flag Ship Apollo as a public. I took just one suitcase, for a planned 10 day stay. I had trained up through Class VIII at Saint Hill in the UK and decided to celebrate my  graduation with a Mediterranean Cruise and some auditing. And I also really did want to meet LRH.

A ship is a tight knit group and everyone gets to know the comings and goings.  I had barely been aboard 3- 4 days when one of the first LRH Watch Messengers (someone who was with LRH for 8 hours a day), Janis Gillham, found me in the bowels of the ship. She had a message from the Commodore.  I looked up at her startled that she knew my name.  Her message was: “The Commodore asked if you have finished your auditing, and if so, would you like to join the Sea Organization?” I was silent for a moment. I felt a rush of excitement. My life was about to change in one second. I told Janis to tell the Commodore I would be honored to join his team. About 20 minutes later I met LRH on the Promenade Deck and received his congratulations. Janis told me later she knew of no other person who was invited to join the Sea Org personally by LRH.

And boy, I sure have some rare LRH stories to tell.  I must tell them on this blog.  The LRH Biography staff  spent 2 days debriefing me for these stories about 3 years ago.  Of course they will be deleted now that I am a Proud SP.  So I will preserve these anecdotes for posterity on Marty’s blog.  And based on the track record of Miscavige, the Biography will never be completed anyway as the person who is supposed to be writing it is instead his personal speechwriter.

I soon discovered that a “Field Class VIII” did not mean a Flag Class VIII.  And so I re-did all my internships and then trained up to Class XII with LRH as the CS overlooking the folders and giving final TR passes. I won several “Auditor of the Year” awards and was personally commended by LRH 9 times.  I was a high producer as part of LRH’s Flag technical team. I am the last LRH trained Class XII that belonged to Church of Miscavology.  All other XIIs died, left the Church, or were declared.  And now, I will proudly join the ranks of those who have been declared for withdrawing their support for the SP that is destroying the life’s work of LRH.

You can’t teach an old dog new tricks

I am sure you can imagine my reaction first to the “Golden Age of Tech” and then to “The Basics” events where DM in his infinite arrogance put down and invalidated all prior training and auditing. A relative handful of us kept the delivery high and the Gross Income rolling in, month after month, year in and year out.  Half a dozen Class XIIs were the main source of income for the FSO.  We kept the ship afloat with delivery of the Ls and other auditing, so LRH could continue his research and overlook and guide Scientology’s growth and impact. I sat at those events and literally watched Miscavige assume the (false) position of the new Messiah. HE WAS GOING TO IMPROVE ON LRH!

Those of us who worked on LRH lines knew very well, that LRH did not sell botched overt products.  Every single facet and characteristic of LRH was to improve and upgrade the quality of life as best he knew. Now, in strutted Mr. Arrogance to inform everyone that they were incompetent, out tech, unknowing fools and that he had slaved feverishly to correct all the mistakes LRH had made (of course, there was a lot of PR and hype, but read through the bs and this is what he was saying). I audited 1000s of hours under LRH.  I called FNs the way LRH wrote the definition. Not the David Miscavige definition.  All those Ls and special Flag Rundowns delivered throughout the 1970s and 1980s did not incorporate the DM definition.  In those years, I do not recall a single request for refund, missed withhold or trouble made for the pc in all the people I audited.

This is not to say I did not live a life of dread. The registrars David Light, Sonia Jacques etc. would get the Tours to sell huge blocks of auditing to No-Case Gain pcs. They were all dumped in the Class XII HGC for a miracle cure.  I was the Class XII C/S.  Jeff Walker, the Senior CS and I lived a life of daily combat over this.  The stats of Flag Service Org were climbing nicely and Jeff wanted all pcs handled in the Class XII HGC.   I was concerned about the well-being of LRH’s org and not to create a disaster with an illegal pc. I saw the future YEARS and YEARS before Lisa McPherson happened.  It was just a matter of time. I cared very much to protect the Flag Land Base and on my watch, there was no death, no suicide, no one in my HGC under my CSing or auditing hit the skids.

Miscavige orders Heber to divorce me

From early 1982 to 1987 I worked at OSA International.  I had married Heber in 1978 and when he became President CSI in 1982 and was located in Los Angeles I transferred there to be with him.  I had the grandiose title of “Presidential Aide” (Heber’s Assistant)   One day I was summoned with Heber to INT base and it did not sound good.  Upon arrival, Mike Sutter (then CO OSA Int) who had the previous week presented me with OSA “Staff Member of the Week” award,  questioned me about a sentence I had told someone in FSO about Vicki Aznaran and Jesse Prince’s removal from RTC (Vicki was Inspector General). Even though this fact was Broad Public Issue a few days later, distributed in everyone’s in-basket, I paid for that goof dearly.  I had committed out-security and this was used as a justification to destroy our marriage.

I was confined to the Int base and not allowed to return to Los Angeles to pick up a change of clothes. I did heavy deck work in the same underwear and dress for 10 days. It was humiliating. One sweats on the decks.  It is HOT in Gilman Hot Springs.  I was not ”trusted” to return to Los Angeles to pick up clothes and toiletries.

At this point, I spoke up.  I went to Jackson, Security Chief (who posts here — Greetings Jackson!)  and announced that nobody had the right to keep me against my will. I called it kidnap. I said they were breaking the laws of the land.  I tend to speak up and meet things head on — I am not the silent suffering type.   Well, that caused an explosion.  My car keys were promptly taken away and I was put on  increased hours of sec checking.  And no surprise, that sec checking became wilder and wilder.  Was I a psychiatric case?  Had I been institutionalized? (LOL I had been in the Church since I was a teenager) Had I been implanted?  Was I sent in by the FBI? Was I an IRS agent or plant?  ROFL!  Yes, I can laugh now.  But it is not funny when this is run on you for hours, days, weeks and you cannot leave the base.  It was 6 months of hell.  Someone wrote on another site: “Under the totalitarian regime in Russia those that objected to the program were by definition ‘mentally ill’ as only a person who was mentally ill would be against the people’s paradise.”   What a great quote.  I was not “with the program,” therefore I must be psychiatric…….whoa.    This is DM’s “Church.”

The years of performance, the stellar products, the Auditor of the Year awards year in and year out, all wiped out in one nanosecond.  I did not agree to be kidnapped against my will at Int Base, therefore I must be psychiatric — even though I was one of 6 people on planet Earth that trained to Class XII CS. On reflection, those 6 months of kidnap and being imprisoned against my will at Int Base should have been reported to Law Enforcement at that time. But it would not occur to an SO member to do that.   You just could not think that way when you are in, even though kidnap is a felony.  I know now that was an overt because the same brutality has been repeated and even expanded in the 23 years since; witness the horrors of “the Hole” where Heber still resides.

I later learned from other sources that the whole 6 months incident was carrying out the DM order to get Heber to divorce me.  Either get the evidence through sec checks that could be used to show him I was a plant or a psych case, or break me and make me act in a psychotic fashion that would prove it to him that way.  Heber was sent to Germany and I was forbidden to use the phone, talk to Heber or talk to anyone other than my “handlers.” Lockdown.

Eventually the strategy worked. There was no way of fighting it.

Now, this was more than 20 years ago and DM has gotten progressively worse since. The Hole is a reflection of the insane deterioration of DM’s ability to see the value of a Staff Member.  Especially a dedicated SO member.

In 1990 I routed out of the Sea Org.  I endured months of Sec Checking but did all the right things on the route out.  In 20 years it never occurred to me to be hostile towards the Church. I remained a “good” Scientologist, funding libraries, buying all the new releases, showing up at events, giving AOLA $250,000 in the space of 3 years, and even embroiling myself in things of a more confidential nature to support the Church. I’ve had 20 years since my departure from the Sea Org to step out of line. I never did. And when the inevitable doubts crept in, I would think of my time track with LRH and just keep on going.

Alexander Jentzsch and Office of Special Affairs

Heber and I had a son in 1984 — Alexander Jentzsch.  He was born and raised in the Sea Org.

When Alexander was 11 years old (he had left the SO with me in 1990 when he was 6 and had then been regged to return to the SO when he was 10), Heber and I were both located in Los Angeles and Alexander was at Flag.  He was being used as a child slave laborer at the Fort Harrison, with no schooling or study time – instead cleaning toilets and floors in the Fort Harrison lobby 10-12 hours a day.  I called OSA multiple times to tell them this violated the laws of the land.  Finally I threatened that if it was not handled I would fly to Clearwater and extract him myself. OSA put him on a plane to Los Angeles within 24 hours.

Alexander was born in Scientology and knows nothing else. The culture is deeply embedded in him.

Fast forward to 3 years ago.  Alexander is now married and his wife Andrea is pregnant. Pressure is brought to bear for an abortion. It is done skillfully – no heavy threats, but both are both taken off post and made to look at “the greatest good”.  The message was loud and clear. Alexander called me multiple times a day as this goes down. All of the while his father, Heber, is uncontactable in lockdown in Miscavige’s Hole.  In the end, Andrea had an abortion and they were returned to post. But she never gets over it and feels she has committed an overt of magnitude.

3 years later she is pregnant again.  She really does want to be a mom. But now, times have changed. Claire and Mark Headley and  Laura Decrescenzo’s lawsuits, media and the internet have caused the Church to re-think their enforced abortion policy.

This time Alexander and Andrea are routed out with ” love”.  Kirsten Caetano, in charge of External Security at OSA, befriends Alexander in an unnatural, unheard of way. She arranges for his apartment rent to be paid. Helps arrange and approves him working for a Scientologist owned company at a very high wage, and gives him lots of sympathy and compassion. She strokes his feathers every way she can.  He is given $3500 after he signs a bunch of documents on video. God knows he signed his life away, though of course the documents are worthless and Alexander was not given a copy of what he signed.

Psych Ops.

I keep hearing from Alexander how WONDERFUL Kirsten is. She gives him all her phone numbers: berthing, cell and work, and she is just a click away on email. Ahhhhhhhh.  Feel the love….

Then Marty and Mike posted the blog on Heber (http://markrathbun.wordpress.com/2010/04/04/). Alexandar has a huge ongoing upset that Heber has not seen him in 6 YEARS.  Even though he is a dedicated Sea Org member and can put up with a lot “for the cause”, it makes no sense to him (it shouldn’t) that he cannot see or talk to his father. It is a BIG  button.  Heber was born on October 30th 1935. He is 75 years old. And he is incarcerated at Int Base and he has been for years.  Miscavige has not permitted any family time for Heber to see Alexander.

But the magic of Marty’s blog. Within 36 hours of that posting, Heber comes down to Los Angeles and spends 8 hours with Alexander for the first  time in 6 years. Heber has a cell phone number he gives Alexander and promises to attend a family re-union of his brothers and sisters in August with Alexander.

Wow, what a change! Thanks Marty and Mike!

Scroll forward to a few days ago. I ask Alexander if he wished Heber “Happy Father’s Day”. He said he had called but could not get through.  Heber no longer has a cell phone. And when he calls Alexander back he informs him that he will not be going to the family reunion, but will see Alexander next… at Christmas!!

I am outraged and try to communicate about this but Alexander shuts me down. I feel Kirsten’s presence in the comm cycle. How dare I question authority or hint that there may be something wrong in the world of Miscavige!  The Thought Police scrambled into action.

Last night, Alexander was directed by his OSA handlers to guide me to an entheta site on line (entheta about Marty, Mike and even me).  He actually tried to get me to read entheta about myself!! I will not tolerate my son being manipulated against me and when he began screaming at me to “get my shit squared away with OSA or lose him as a son,” I knew that the body snatchers had him firmly in their grasp. For any that think I am in error airing private mother/son stuff on the web, the scene of the church infiltrating and turning my son against me is something that must be exposed.

Mike Rinder went through this when 7 people assaulted him in that parking lot. His own daughter, Taryn, was screaming at him for being an SP.

The internet backlash as a result was enormous. People found the behavior of the C of M appalling and horrifying.  But, the leopard cannot change his spots. Just another OSA op.  Seems the latest ploy is a new twist on “family leverage” that would make Terl proud.  But, once again, they have delivered a massive footbullet.  I was content to withdraw my support at the start of 2010 and remain relatively quiet. All that changed yesterday. If OSA thought they would control me by using Alexander as a pawn, it backfired.

Every time Alexander is used by OSA I will faithfully post every detail on the web, so that the “Office of COB” can see that the world knows and understands their dirty tricks.

Sometimes it is fun to be underestimated.

But we live in a world of instant digital communication.  Marty’s site gets 50,000 hits a WEEK !

We can let sunshine disinfect.

My life is good now. I am highly successful, healthy, wealthy and wise. I have no doubt who my true and dear friends are – they are the people who read this blog every day. And I have no doubt that I will dedicate myself to preventing the destruction of LRH’s legacy by the SP David Miscavige.  This is my Doubt Formula announcement.

Greg & Debra Barnes Refund Letters

18 Aug 2000

As many of you may already know, Greg and Debra Barnes were declared Suppressive by the Church of Scientology. RTC apparently views it as a high crime for someone on OT 7 to object to being security checked every six months, even though these “six-month checks” (as they are fondly referred to by the 7s) violate an LRH technical bulletin. Could it be that the $20,000 or more that each OT is required to pay every six months for their sec check is more important to RTC than technical purity?

After they were declared, the Barnes wrote a letter to the IAS, which is the International Association of Scientologists, asking for their money back. They had both paid for lifetime memberships, a total of more than $40,000.

For those of you who are not familiar with the history of the IAS, let me fill you in. Back in the late 1970s, Mary Sue Hubbard, Henning Heldt, Duke Snider, and several other high-level Guardian’s Office execs were indicted for stealing government documents and a list of other dirty tricks. To raise money for their defense, the Guardian’s Office created a new organization called the Safe Environment Fund, or SEF. Everyone was told that the purpose of SEF was to create a War Chest to fight Scientology’s enemies.

There were big SEF briefings and all the public Scientologists had to donate tremendous amounts of money to defend the GO execs. At that time the people in charge of the global conspiracy to destroy Scientology were not Bob Minton, the German government and the LMT. Back then the U.S. government — particularly the FBI — was in charge of it. (That was before the IRS rolled over and gave Scientology its tax exemption and the U.S. government became Scientology’s most ardent defender.)

The money collected by SEF was used to cover the costs of all the dirty tricks Scientology carried out to try (unsuccessfully) to derail the criminal case against Mary Sue et al. A private investigator named Dick Bast, for example, was hired to set up the judge in the case, Judge Ritchey, with a prostitute to destroy his career. The set-up worked beautifully, and Judge Ritchey had to remove himself from the case. An article ran in one of Scientology’s internal publications proclaiming what a big win this was for Scientology’s expansion on the planet.

When David Miscavige took over Scientology in 1982 he changed the name of the Guardian’s Office to the Office of Special Affairs, and he changed the name of the Safe Environment Fund to the International Association of Scientologists. Today, it is the IAS, not SEF, that collects millions of dollars in donations from Scientologists all over the world. The money is still used for the same purpose — to protect Scientology from its enemies. Only now its enemies are Bob Minton, Ursula Caberta, the LMT, etc. It is IAS monies that are being used to harass and try to destroy these “enemies.”

So Scientology does not want a spotlight on the IAS, because IAS is the Achilles heel of their precious U.S. tax exemption. This is undoubtedly why the Barnes’ request to IAS for a refund received such prompt attention.

First Greg and Debra wrote a simple refund request without any elaboration. This is the letter they received in response:

26 May 2000

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Barnes:

We are in receipt of your request of a return of your donations to the IAS. The rules of the IAS clearly state that contributions are not refundable. This rule is set forth on the IAS membership and donation forms. You acknowledged your understanding of this policy when you signed these forms.

Please advise if you have further information regarding this matter you would like me to consider.

Sincerely,

Lise Cohee
Legal Affairs Director
IAS Administrations
on behalf of the IAS

Well, it seems that Greg and Debra did, indeed, have some further information they wanted Lise to consider, so they wrote her back the following letter:

June 5,2000

Dear Lise,

We certainly do have further information for you to consider; it is where to start, is the problem.

First of all the IAS is an enforced membership that if anyone is to do services as long as we did and went as “OT” as we did you have to become members. The additional donations are harassed out of you with alarming tales of the tech being “attacked” or needed “publications” to alert the populace of the dangers of what ever the flavor of the month dangerous environment you guys dream up is.

We gave to your organization based upon the false reports by your representatives of the German Scientologists being persecuted by ex-Nazi Psychiatrists, when in actuality according to all the German Scientologists I spoke with at the Sand Castle, it was the financial irregularities and out 2-D activities of org executives in Germany as well as poor results, that created the attacks, which your representatives failed to mention conveniently.

We gave to your organization without knowing that RTC was rewriting LRH technical bulletins and his basic books which lower ones ability to obtain power and the results LRH speaks of. I gave to your organization without knowing of the criminal actions being perpetrated on Scientologists and ex not to mention the general public in which millions were spent, and are still being spent, defending your criminal actions in which you lose the cases. (specifically Mr. Hill in Canada and Bonnie Woods in England to name a few)

We gave to your organization without knowing of Fair Game still being practiced by the GO… oops we meant OSA. We gave to your organization without knowing that Mike Rinder’s opinion of spiritual sustenance was holding my friend [Lisa McPherson] down and forcing a concoction of illegally obtained drugs down her throat. Evidently you guys found some other lost tech that we did not know about.

We gave to your organization and attended the Patron Balls because we believed in your stated goals of “support and protect the Scientology religion and Scientologists in all parts of the world so as to achieve the Aims of Scientology as originated by L. Ron Hubbard”.

Never in our wildest dreams did we ever think that we would be on the receiving end of your “Fair Game” and “Black PR” tactics. Never did we think or even vaguely consider that you would hold me against my will at the Sandcastle whilst one of your “Golden Age of Tech” auditor of the year award winning auditors would perform squirrel processes in an attempt to create a psychotic break and when that failed your organization turned on its “Fair Game” machine. Did I fail to mention the C/S was the deputy Senior C/S FSO. We did not see the “support and protect Scientologists” hat being worn here.

The fact that orgs in Germany, France, Russia and Spain are on life support and the fact that the “Church of Scientology” is on the way out in Europe is evidence of your hat not being worn regarding protecting Scientology. Some how I do not think that LRH envisioned your actions or inaction as the “Aims of Scientology” he was talking about… I could be wrong there though. Oh, did I forget about you being kicked out of Greece and your charitable status being laughed out of England, in other words denied.

Regarding the Scientologists in France, Germany and Italy who went to jail for fraud and other interesting crimes did you protect them by bribing the prison guards to give them extra rations of cigarettes or was the CSW for a grant to help them denied because the funds were needed for attorneys else where.

Need we go one with the total disdain and contempt that we have for the despicable con job you are perpetrating on the Scientology public? I think maybe you got our point but if not please do not hesitate to write back and I will give you more.

I would think that an organization of such an “ethical purity” with such a crusade for “Total Freedom” would be insulted to want to keep the money of such people who think of you as we do. I would think that you would be glad to be free of the funds we gave you and wash your pure hands of our despicable association.

Well we think that we have given you enough to consider and we do hope that you will be sickened by the thought of holding onto dirty money such as ours.

Oh we will give you back the Patron Pin and Plaques upon receipt of our funds but the photos that were taken of us at the “Balls” we will keep.

Sincerely,

Greg and Debra Barnes

P.S. I do not think that Loretta Miscavige had to write to you when you gave back her $40,000… oops I guess no one was suppose to know that… well that is the story we were told.

This communication did seem to have an effect. This is the letter Greg and Debra received in response:

3 July 2000

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Barnes:

We are in receipt of your letter of June 13th, 2000. We find your allegations to be totally unfounded, nonetheless, and while under no legal obligation to make any refund of your donations, the IAS has decided, upon review of your letter and your clear indication that you no longer desire to be a member of the IAS, to return to you the donations you made.

Please find enclosed a Release and Waiver for your signatures. The Association will, upon receipt of the executed Release and Waiver, forward to you a cashier’s check in the amount of $40,660 being equal to all the donations you made to the IAS, and will cancel your memberships in the Association.

Sincerely,

Lise Cohee
Legal Affairs Director
IAS Administrations
on behalf of the IAS

Here is the release and waiver Greg and Debra were required to sign:

RELEASE AND WAIVER

We, GREG and DEBRA BARNES herewith declare the following:

That we have made non-refundable donations to the International Association of Scientologists (“IAS”) in the amount of US$ 40,660. With the receipt of a return of that amount, being all funds ever donated by us to the IAS on our behalf and on behalf of our children, we waive all claims and rights against the IAS. All our claims against the IAS are settled for any legal reason with the receipt of the above sum.

That we, our heirs, our successors, representatives, agents, employees, attorneys and assigns release and forever discharge the International Association of Scientologists, IAS Administrations, and their respective successors, agents, officers, directors, divisions, shareholders, trustees, fundraisers and employees from any and all claims, damages, causes of action of any kind which we now have or may hereafter have, from the beginning of time, to and including the effective date of this release.

That we understand that the term “any and all claims” as used above, means and includes, but is not limited to, all claims of any kind, whether known or unknown, anticipated or unanticipated, past or present, contingent or fixed. We agree that the term “any and all claims” shall be interpreted liberally and as sufficiently comprehensive so that this agreement precludes any and all disputes, litigation or controversy brought by the undersigned.

That we have resigned our memberships and those of our children in the IAS. That we are signing this Release and Waiver on our own free will and decision. That we have read this Release and Waiver and understand completely each of its conditions and stipulations.

The Barnes sent their release and waiver in, and in return they received the following letter, with a check for $40,660 enclosed:

26 July 2000

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Barnes,

Find enclosed a check in the amount of $40,660 being the return of all the donations you made to the International Association of Scientologists in your name and on behalf of your family.

Sincerely,

Lise Cohee
Legal Affairs Director

I guess this successful correspondence shows that the old Scientology maxim, “When in doubt, communicate,” is still effective, at least in certain parts of the organization.

February 13, 2001

To: Glen Stilo OSA

From: Greg Barnes

Dear Glen,

In regards to your letter of January 31st which was in response to my letters of January 5th and the 30th let me remind you of my original letter of May 2nd 2000 page three.

We demanded nearly a year ago the total of $170,000 from Flag although the corrected amount is $190,835.80. Your statement of surprise “Now you are demanding $190,835.80” is just another one of your organization’s deceptive statements, the same manner of deceptive statements that has created so many motivators for your organization. Stop trying to alter-is my obvious written communication and this cycle will as-is and go away.

You state in your letter “You have, for some inexplicable reason, chosen to turn to sources of “information” that are entirely unworthy of belief.” Well Glen your chief executive David Miscaviage and LRH have been these “sources of “information”. Lies and deception are the reasons for our demand of our funds back.

Also our own experiences are sources of information and I wish to expound on these so you can as-is and duplicate totally. Confront these points Glen they come from LRH and RTC and your own publications.

First the thousands of dollars we paid over some seven years on your “six month checks” now called “refreshers” that violates C/S Series 73RA as well as C/S Series 73RB. C/S series 73RA re-revised 1 July 1985 copyright L. Ron Hubbard states emphatically what should and should not be given between OT levels or when one is on an OT level. This HCOB is 12 pages long and no longer in existence since RTC had all these references picked up in early 90’s –wonder why that was done???? We will get back to that later.

Not to mention the travel and accommodation expenses for these bogus “six month checks, that per Hubbard should have never been done.

(2)

Now C/S series 73RB was written in 1990 some 4 years after Hubbard died and is 5 pages long, 7 pages shorter than 73RA written while Hubbard was alive….can you please explain this???

C/S Series 73RB states emphatically “Pre-OT’s progressing well in the No-Interference Area should not be interfered with by Sec Checking or anything else.”

It was our querying of these references per policy that missed someone’s withholds and then the OSA black PR machine was unleashed on my family and business.

Now let’s talk about the “church’s” OT 5 of which my wife did two versions. First there was “New OT 5” to replace the “squirrel Mayo 5” and then the “New Rundowns” all of which we had to pay for. It did not matter that we paid for it once and thought we were getting in right the first time we still had to pay for your “New Rundowns”. More money for something we thought was supposedly correct the first time.

Now the 25 hours of NOT’s repair lists which cost us some $16,000, done in late 1998 and early 1999 on Debra who was so screwed up by your “six month checks”. We paid to “fix” your standard auditing.

Now your L’s of which in 2000 Flag started recalling these “completions” for new tech someone has uncovered. I did L-11 in 1989 and then got review for almost a year afterwards because of a nervous breakdown that I experienced after completing your L-11. I lost my business and almost my marriage. Lucky for me I did not end up like Lisa McPherson and some of the other victims of your L’s who died of brain tumors or just went bankrupt or got divorces.

Your promotional material states “A New Life” well I want the one I had before – thank you.

Your chairman of the board David Miscarriage stated to all of us that “you are using only 3 tools out of 79” not to mention the updates that just appeared in the early 90’s that we had to pay for as well. Miscaviage did not deliver what was promised to any of us on 7, this violates one of Scientology’s biggest policies

(3)

“deliver what your promise”. What level of exchange is this, Glen ??? It ranks as partial if not rip off per Hubbard’s own policies.

The D of P’s at the Sandcastle told Debra and myself we would have never finished the level the way we were trained by your organization.

My wife and I were also told that we were “squirrel” auditors and that is why we had to be retrained on the SNCC. It was not that we did anything outrageous in our sessions it was just that we were not trained correctly the first time. What was RTC’s or Senior C/S international responsibility in all this – NONE!!! Pay up and shut up was the answer to us.

Regarding the C/S’ing we paid for on OT 7. None of the C/S’es are OT 7 completions nor are any of the examiners or qual terminals who corrected us. Per Hubbards own HCOB’s – C/S’es must be at or above the pc’s or pre-OT’s level to C/S them as well as qual terminals. So all the money we paid for this “expertise” was wasted since no one knew what to look for regarding a completion. Is this another example of the blind leading the blind ?? Except we the public paid for the blindness.

Now the pricing of your SNCC was something to behold. First if you were still auditing on this “squirrel” level ( Tech staff at the Sandcastle words not mine) it was cheaper but if you stopped auditing because it was wrong then you had to pay more. What is that all about??? Your pricing rationale is illogical and invalidative of parishioners applying Hubbards policy of KSW. No matter how badly Flag or RTC screwed up the public have to pay.

Now lets talk about the Sandcastles auditors not applying “HCOB reads on OT 3’a and above”. For some individuals during the non- standard “six month checks’ now called “refreshers” the auditors handle the reads OT style and on other parishioners they did not. This is just another example of gross misapplication or just plain no application of Hubbard’s stated technical bulletins. We trusted your “professionals” and RTC’s “Purity of the tech” guarantee, and we took it up the tail pipe big time.

Now for the “reverse auditing” and that is the term used on C/S’es sent down from International Management. This is probably the most despicable and sick procedure your organization undertakes to silence or turn parishioners around who are out of line. CCHR attacks psychiatry for its abuses, this takes the cake.

(4)

Your specially selected auditors, and Terese Blum is one of them, are given a C/S to alter standard processes to induce a psychotic break in pre-OT’s or pc’s.

This is a premeditated attempt to harm with no worthwhile purpose but to disable someone who management considers a threat.

HCOPL 18 October 1967 Penalties For Lower Conditions:

Enemy – SP Order. Fair Game. May be deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist. May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed. My family experienced this supposed canceled policy written by Hubbard.

The above Fair Game PL was canceled in October of 1968 but as Hubbard stated “Fair Game may not appear on any Ethics Order.” “This P/L does not cancel any policy on the treatment or handling of an SP.”

Oh yes, Glen, we know “Scientology does not do this anymore”. But does it do it any less is my question? This is another example of an “unworthy of belief” source of information – LRH’s own written policy.

Regarding LRH’s achievements before Scientology and during Scientology that are in your many publications. The public documents as well as Hubbards own letters to the FBI and the Veterans Association are my source of information.

But the scariest was Hubbards coroners report which proves that these upper levels are dangerous and that they do not deliver anything close to your publication’s stated goals.

Now let’s talk about Davey Miscaviages confidential RTC written explanation of why we all were going no where on OT 7. Not the senior C/S international’s written communication but Davids communication. Who runs the tech show over there anyways???

It is a hidden data line when Miscaviage commented that he got all his data from Hubbards own folders on OT 7. Not to mention that Miscaviage stated “you can not blow by inspection on OT 7 you must run routine procedure one on ever action. So now Miscaviage is changing Hubbards HCOB’s that we learned on OT 3,4,5,6?

(5)

LRH said it best in KSW series 1 – “The only thing you can upbraided for by students and pc’s is “no results.” “Trouble spots occur only where there are “no rsults.” Upbraided means to rebuke severely or bitterly; censure sharply.

You state in your letter “I am not going to comment on the gratuitous and false garbage that you feel compelled to include in your letters” well, Glen, these are Scientology’s HCOB’s and HCOPL’s as well as David Miscaviage’s event speeches.

You state in your letter, Glen, that “sending copies to others who are not involved in this private matter” regarding getting Scientology to pay us the funds that were paid by us under false pretenses. Glen you have some cahonies, OSA,RTC and the MAA’s at the Sandcastle made up and published the most despicable lies about my wife and me and then circulated them and you are now concerned about privacy…….spare me please.

I think that every member of your organization should know the truth about Hubbard and the alteration of HCOB’s as well as the treatment they can expect if they find out the truth and try to apply the church’s own policy to correct it. People need to be told of the hazards of doing the “upper levels” and that they may end up like Hubbard or so many of the other gross failures who had completed the L’s or had been on the OT levels.

At least tell them the risks, Glen, and if they want to go on then fine but to promote these levels as the most wonderful actions in the universe without the hint of negative effects is neglect and fraud. Do you think that Mrs. David Delaney who committed suicide in 1995 after completing NEW OT 5 would have given that level second thoughts were she to know that she could possibly never see her two young boys again? Unfortunately she was never given the option.

Your organization started on this road of lies and deception and maligning our reputations. Now after applying LRH’s policy on PR series 18 we find the crimes and lies of Hubbard and Miscaviage and you want us to keep it private?? Get over it…. Point out just one thing that I have said that is untrue and if it is false I will retract it.

So, Glen, lets stick to the pertinent points and they are the above points and these below.

(6)

1) Destruction of our pc folders with us present or just give them to us.

2) Destruction of our ethics and OSA files. Any ethics 3 files.

3) A signed agreement that your organization or agents will not practice anymore fair game tactics on us.

4) Our money paid to Flag $190,835.80

The non application of the Church of Scientology’s own policies on ethics and honesty as well as the total disregard for technical bulletins as well as the application of insane policies are the results you are seeing here (upbraided). Your ignoring of our demands as listed in our first letter of May 2000 is just making this cycle go on and on. Together Glen we can as-is this dismal communication cycle between us.

I am prepared to continue this cycle for as many lifetimes as it takes. So let’s get together and settle this matter. I need to hear from you by the 25th.

Sincerely,

Greg Barnes

Lisa Hamilton

Lisa was a stable terminal for many staff and public in the LA area, in fact, across the entire Western United States.  In that part of the world, if you said Senior HCO the person that came to mind was Lisa.  A 22 year Sea Org Veteran, she was respected, admired and loved for her ability to apply standard tech (especially ethics) to those she was working to help.  And that is perhaps the one word that sums her up – help. For the benefit of the individual.  She left the Sea Org with her husband in 2008. She explains why.  This is an “on the ground” report of how the C of M has perverted Scientology.  If you know Lisa, you will also know that this is utterly devoid of hype or overstatement.

Mike Rinder

I realize some people are wondering what happened to me and are being given slanted data.  I know some of my friends have been told not to talk to me as I am “not in good standing.”  If you fall into this category and are following that order, I do not hold it against you in the least.  I still consider you my friend, and as a friend, I ask you not to violate your integrity either way.

With that said, I do want to say a few things for myself.  I am not writing here to state that I am perfect, or all my overts were justified.  I am just here to communicate and do believe, as LRH says, that that is the universal solvent.

My husband Mark and I are well.  We live in northern Nevada (Gardnerville to be exact).  It is a very small town and surrounded by mountains, lakes, rivers and all the outdoor activities that go with them.  I work at a local Veterinary Hospital, which is great.  I have gained quite some skills and am helping to improve the lives of animals and their owners.  I have always been very strongly oriented on the 5th dynamic – actually, as strong as I am on the 3rd dynamic.

Over the years, I let certain dynamics go by the wayside, resulting in my dynamics becoming misaligned and out of balance.  And I have handled that.  Those who know me, know I have a very strong help button, so now help is evenly spread across my dynamics and that is best.  I am involved in many activities in this regard.

It is true that Mark and I blew from the Sea Org in July 2008.   At this point, I am not going to get into a lot of specifics as to why, but I felt that I could no longer fulfill my responsibilities as a Sea Org member and maintain my own personal integrity unless I stated what I know.

I remember sitting in an international event in 2008 and watching the “stats” being presented that such and such org (ASHO, Pasadena, Steven’s Creek, etc.) has so many new people coming in every so many minutes.  I looked over at my husband after one statement about ASHOD and saw his eyebrows raise in astonishment and we looked at each other and said, “Wow, that’s not true.”    Come on, the Bodies in the Shop were going down, the Captain and staff were counting other org’s SO members on the BIS, Paid Completions, Paid Starts and other stats as a stat-push and to save their bacon in case their Basics sales were down.   To hear the head of our group utter such blatant falsehoods to staff and public made me feel ashamed and embarrassed to be a Sea Org member.

You see, we had been in those orgs – old building, new building – they were empty and doing poorly.  These are orgs such as the ones I mentioned above, plus Hawaii, Salt Lake City, Portland, Denver, Phoenix, Santa Barbara, Mountain View, Washington DC, Vancouver, Chicago and more.  Some better than others, but none booming.    If you don’t believe me, do what LRH says – go find out for yourself – go into a few orgs and LOOK.  Go at different times.  Go look at their stats.

I know the staff WANT to play the Birthday Game for blood, but how can you win that game when you are being forced off post to reg for the IAS, reg for the “Ideal Orgs”, reg for “Superpower”, reg for extra Basics packages, and for who knows what else.  I mean, you are told you are out-ethics if you say you would rather do your post!  Scientology is supposed to be a game where everybody wins, but with these off-policy orders, it’s near impossible.  And to any staff or public who I pressured from my post to give money for any of these things, when you did not have it and would rather have used it to go up the The Bridge, please accept my apology.  I am deeply sorry.  It was an overt product.

While I am at it, I would also like to apologize to any staff or public who I rotely misapplied policy to, disregarding you as an individual.  I continue to make an effort to personally contact people and take responsibility and boy does that blow charge on both sides!  LRH is right: the EXACT time, place, form and event does as-is things.

“What is true for you, is true for you” is a profound statement.  Think of that in reference to your own case gain and your own personal integrity.  It has NOTHING to do with being forced to do something you don’t agree with, NOTHING to do with being made to disconnect from someone just because they believe something different than you, NOTHING to do with being made to say something you did was an overt because someone else said so.

LRH never said, maintaining your personal integrity was going to be easy – when you get a few threats, subtle blackmail and you are told one sentence of one policy to prove you are wrong or have to comply, then you can really cave yourself in.  Just know that the BEST part about it is, though, that YOU have to agree, YOU have to toe the line, YOU have to be the one to cave yourself in.  Anyone else being cause over you is a cop out.  You have to agree to be suppressed, right?

As I stated earlier, I want to avoid getting into specifics at this time, but I do want to make a statement in regard to the treatment of some “undesirable” staff.  PAC received many staff not wanted at Flag or Int.  Those who had gotten in trouble at Int were sent to PAC to be posted on low, low posts.   There are many of those who had been in PAC for YEARS and were still not allowed out of lower conditions.  Even though they had enough signatures and had excellently applied their conditions, they had to have one final signature from the “top man” or else they were not allowed to say they were complete.  Sometimes he would not respond to their conditions for months – sometimes longer.  Then even when some of these staff were “out of lower conditions” they were not allowed to move up the org board or take a Tech post as they were “not to be trusted” – how so, if they were out of lower conditions and had been productive on post?    One person was sent to Flag for Supervisor training, but when an inspection was done by the “top man” and he saw that person, he sent him back to PAC – just like that.

This is not to mention those older staff who were sent to PAC so they would not be seen at Flag or Int and cause a “bad impression” or whatever the reason.  One day a dozen or so elderly SO members were suddenly herded onto a plane, without being asked or given time to collect all their belongings and sent to PAC.  Most of them were heartbroken.   Similar actions were done with staff who were seriously ill.  Being part of an organization that treats people who had dedicated their lives to the cause, and who now because of their physical limitations, were being so callously “transferred”, was a source of both anger and grief for me.

There are many other things that were enforced upon public and staff that I did not agree with.  Arbitraries of who you who could or could not communicate to or what you could or could not read.  This was applied particularly heavily on SO members, where communication was screened, some not being able to talk to certain family unless someone else was present, not being able to read anything negative in print, being gotten inside if anyone showed up to the PAC Base to protest – didn’t you all wonder about the protester with the sign  – “Why did Rinder run?”  — I know I did.  Disconnection policy (yes Tommy Davis, the Church DOES enforce it) was enforced.  I know personally about that, through having my communication so controlled that I sounded unnatural when I was trying to handle a family member, which made the situation even worse.

I was Snr I&R, I was Snr HAS – and before that, many posts – Snr Qual Sec, HAS, Qual Sec, etc.  I have been up and down the org board, but was definitely proudest of my time in Snr HCO where I was working with and helping staff and public improve their lives.  NO, I was not perfect and yes, I made mistakes.  I did try to make up for my mistakes.  I can safely say in this area, I did much more good than harm.   I know there are those out there who are thankful for my hand in improving their lives and there are those who trusted that I had their best interest in mind.

I still do.

That is why I have to say something.  I have been out of the SO for almost 2 years.  I have not said anything until now, but it has been pointed out to me by some friends that that in itself may be an overt.

So, I am here to state that I am no longer a member of the “official” Church organization as I cannot back up the current MEST-oriented and wasteful actions which,     too often, override the individual going up The Bridge.  I am no longer in agreement with the arbitraries in going up The Bridge (how many times do you have to re-do something after you have attested to it?), I am no longer in agreement with being told who I can/cannot talk to, what I can/cannot read and have to PRETEND that someone else knows better and can control my life – and not control as in KRC, but control as in, frankly, a kind of suppression.  Okay, you may say, well, what about LRH policy?  So, to that, I say that LRH himself stressed what is true for you is true for you…including Scientology.    And, well, I have to say, at this point, WHO knows what is actually written by LRH or not?  Myself, I am sorting this out by what does or does not seem like the truth to me.

Well, this is a lot wordier than I intended.  Hopefully, you have made it this far (or at least saved it to read when you had time to do so).   J

I am hoping that all of you will at least give what I say some thought, that you DO look at what BOTH sides of this issue are doing and saying.   Once you have done that, you can make your own decision.

If you decide that this is BS and is not true for you, well fine.  That is your decision.  That does not make you my enemy.  Why should it?  We can still be in comm and be friends and “agree to disagree”…hmmm, think that is also covered somewhere…

I am here if you need someone to sincerely communicate with.  Those of you who know me, know that.

Whatever you do, be true to yourself and your dynamics.

Greg and Debra Barnes – OTVII Knowledge Reports

These internal Knowledge Reports were exchanged in the organization in 1999 in accordance with Scientology’s Ethics procedures while the Barnes’ fought to clear their names and to get Hubbard’s technology applied correctly during the upper OT levels.

“Speaking Freely” – Greg and Debra Barnes were long time members of Scientology and on OT 7 when they tried to apply KSW and found themselves declared SP.

“Things That Should Not Be” Report:

May 10, 1999

At the time Greg wrote this report, he didn’t understand that he was intentionally being “reverse audited” at Flag Service Organization.

On Friday I go into session with Therese Blum she flys my ruds. Asks do you have ARC X? Then looks up and asks do you have an ARC X? I answer and she says s/g that I could not understand. She then asks do you have a PTP? She then asks do you have a consideration and I said yes aren’t you going to complete the ARC X and she says ” it didn’t read”. This stuck my attenion and then she does not reask PTP and goes right to W/H and after she asks the? she looks up and says has a w/h been missed. We spent at least 45 minutes and I could not find anything for the longest time and we finally got how I was covert in a comm cycle.

Then next thing she said was that we are going to start the sec check. The ? was has RTC missed a W/H on you? I could not find a/g on this. She then started asking me about any out ethics in general and I told her that I had yelled at my son and my wife and had been invalidative. None of these are of recent nature. She then started asking for more out-ethics and she volunteered areas porn on the internet, entheta on the internet about Scientology, had I slept with Virgina McClaughry and she went on.

I asked her aren’t you going to take up any of those that I gave you and she said no I am just checking for an overview of out-ethics. She then took up my yelling at my son and after I told her about it she did not ask when or is that all or anything else. I asked her if she was going to finish the overt and she did. I was told by her that we were going to do this FPRD style and she hatted me on this but we did not handle this OW FPRD style we FN’ed it and then ended off.

After the session I decided to request another auditor because of the ARCX confusion and her not being an American maybe there was a language problem.

I called on Saturday and requested from Valerie a change of auditor and requested Debbie Titus who had been auditing my wife and had had great wins with. I was told that by Valerie that Debbie Titus was a review auditor and could not do Sec Checks. This made no sense since she was doing my wife’s eligibility, I also requested a change of C/S. I told Valerie that I had only 5 hours of sleep and was not sessionable she said come in anyways.

I arrived and Valerie the senior D of P denied my request for another auditor or C/S and told me that I was going to continue with this auditor and C/S. I told Valerie about the ARCX confusion in session and about her accent and she just acked me.

After Valerie had denied my request the auditor opens the door to the HGC and says to me ” problem with my accent?” She was sarcastic about it.

We went into her auditing room and I told her that I was not sessionable and she put the cans in my hands and told me that she was going to do a FPRD correction list. I told her no we weren’t because I was not sessionable and that was squirrel and I put down the cans. She tried to get me to pick up the cans and I refused. After some 10-15 minutes of my refusing to pick up the cans she said let’go.

I was then escorted back to the MAA office and then back up to the HGC. Causuma came up and said that my auditor was going to do an ethics interview.

I went back into the auditors room and she began asking me “what overt has been restimulated” this was run repetitively on me with no OW’s that I gave being taken up per standard handling of OW’s. I started to get enturbulated and asked if there was another question and she said no just answer this one. After some 20-30 minutes of having this question run on me repetitively with no FN’s indicated or OW’s per the standard handling I refused to continue and put the cans down.

She then got up and opened her door and Causuma and April came in and escorted me to the RTC rep (Italian girl) and told her that I was being uncooperative. I told the RTC rep that the auditor tried to do a FPRD correction list on me and I was not sessionable. April then told the RTC rep that I had shown ED Gonsolin C/S Series 73RB and that he was off the level. I told April she was lying. April then told the RTC rep that 10 people had seen the reference and this was also a lie. More discussion was had and Causuma told me that she wanted do an ethics interview and I agreed.

We went back to the HGC routed back into the auditing room and I told Causma to tell the auditor what we were going to do and she did. I sat down this time even more tired and the auditor began with “what overt has been restimulated”?? I told her we were suppose to do an ethics interview and she said this is it. This repetitive process of “what overt has been restimulated” went on for about 25 minutes and then I said no more. I told her that I was tired and getting hungry and she said “I just want to get this question answered”.! I continued for awhile longer and then said no more.

I stood up and the auditor stood up and tried to get me to sit back down and I told her that I just wanted to go see Causuma. She would not accept this and she blocked the door. I told her we were not going to continue this because I was tired and getting hungry and I wanted to go home and get some sleep. I told her we were not going to continue and that was that. I started to get pissed and she said “I know you want to hit me so go ahead” I told her that I wasn’t going to hit her I just had had enough. Cuasuma and April then came in and started to somewhat yell at me and showed me HCOB 6 March 1982R Confessional Tech Policies and told me that if I did not answer the question that she would put a non-enturbulation order on me. I told her go ahead I don’t care because this was going no where and I was tired and hungry.

I agreed to go at it somemore so the auditor came back in and we proceeded on the repetitive question”what overt has been restimulated”. This went on for another 10-15 minutes and finally I said no more. I was giving OW’s with the questions but none of them were taken down per how to handle OW’s and no FN ever indicated. After she got that no matter what she did I wasn’t going to continue Causuma and April came in like the door was never locked. They both said that this question is reading and you are going to answer it. I told them that I had been answering it and one of them said you are going to answer it somemore. April then sits down in the auditors chair and says I am going to ask you s/g pick up the cans. I told Causuma to stay and she did. April asked me “what overt has been restimulated?” I put the cans down and said no more.

The auditor then came back into the room and all three of them were blocking the door. I told them that this was too weird and that this wasn’t Scientology and I did not sign up for this insanity. I tried to get to the door and they were gently pushing me back and I said enough. I was threatened with non-enturbulation order and again I said I don’t care, I refuse to cooperate any further that this whole situation was over and that they could do anything that they wanted.

The auditor then came back inside and Causuma and April then left and she asked me if I could come back in tommorrow. I told her no and to have Cathy call me on Monday.

Cathy calls me on Monday and I tell her that I am not coming in. I get transferred to Causuma and I tell her that I am mailing her a letter and it will explain everything.

She trys to get me to come in to speak with her but I refuse and we both hang up. She calls back and leaves a message that if I am not there in :30 minutes she will put a non-enturbulation order on me for blowing a sec check. Causma calls me back and we talk and I tell her that I am not coming in and I won’t let Debra have done to her want was done to me because it was squirrel and she knew it.

Causuma tells me to come pick up my Non-Enturbulation order and I told her just mail it to me and we ended the comm.

This is what occurred and I wouldn’t have believed it if it didn’t happen to me personally. I want you to know that I did everything to cooperate for as long as I could and I should have stopped the entire madness a lot sooner than I finally did. It is obvious to me that there is an SP on the lines for something this gross to have occurred. I do hope that you can see that there was everything done to try and spin me in and make it look like I deserve a NON-Enturb order based on False Reports and a squirelly sec check or ethics interview.

Letter To Scientology’s International Justice Chef (IJC):

Last night (5/9) my wife and I went to our first hearing of our comm eve. We had requested K/R’s on Saturday and were denied copies of these by April the public MAA and the Heather Petzold the Senior Dir of I &R. I told the Dir of I & R that we needed a copy of the K/R’s per HCOPL so that we could respond to the charges she said you will see them at your Comm Eve. We were called by April later that night(Sat) and left a message that my wife and I could come in on Sunday evening to see the K/R’s @ 7:00PM approximately 30- minutes before the committee met. April also left on the same message that we were both under a non-enturbulatin order.

My wife and I went in and there were some K/R’s by April. I had 5 K/R’s plus a non-enturbulation order that I was not given a copy of and told that she only had one copy. I asked for copies of the K/R’s and was told by April that she would make copies and give them to me later. I never got copies. April asked me if Debra knew she was under a non-enturbulation order and I told her how were we suppose to know we never received a copy of any notice of such an action. Neither my wife or I have ever received a NON-Enturbulation order and a lot of ethics gradients have been skipped here, this is very ethics.

The hearing was short and I was asked by Art Webb how I pleaded to several charges just charges no specifics of why I was being charged with anything. I plead innocent to everything except causing a problem and I pleady guilty. I asked if I could tape the proceedings and was told that there is no policy stating you can. The committee had a tape recorder but I do not know if it was on or not. Since we were being denied a bill of particulars and K/R’s I wanted to have a record of what went on. I was not asked any questions by the committe regarding any of the evidence. I provide each committe member with the attached data.

After I gave my pleadings to the more than 8-10 crimes and I think there were some high crimes I was dismissed. This occurred around 8:00PM I am not sure of the exact time.

I went out and sat down in reception and was not seen again by the committee. I requested to see my Non-Enturbulation Order, from one of the members, she was a black girl, who kept on coming out of the meeting room. She told me to get it from April and I told her that April had given her only copy to the Comm Eve committee. The girl went in and was coming out with the Non-Enturbulation order when another member stopped her and the black girl said you will have to get a copy from April.

My wife went into the meeting and after she was done I told the black girl that we would be responding to the K/R’s that the committee was given on us. She told me that I could send the responses per policy to ethics and that they were not interested in receiving our responses and that it did not matter. The girl was polite but was very clear in that the committee did not want our responses. How can a committee of evidence evaluate correctly the innocence or guilt of someone if they do not have all the data. This is our concern that this fact finding body does not have all the facts and I do not know if we have seen all of the reports either.

I was shown 5 K/R’s and not given any copies otherwise I would have attached them for you to see.

Here is a rundown of what I saw:

K/R by Peaches Pook a public and friend of mine: She wrote that I told her that we tell all new people coming on board that we do not allow K/R’s to be written in our company.

Response: I did say that and we also tell people that if you have something to say you tell the person whom you have something to say to. Get in comm don’t just write a K/R apply ethics gradients.

K/R-Jessica (Public MAA Receptionist): This K/R stated that my wife was yelling at April concerning where are our K/R’s.

Response: Her voice was raised by not yelling and we were upset that we were being denied copies of K/R’s which violates HCOPL K/R’s as well as denied a copy of the bill of particulars. We were justifiably upset that here was a document that accused us of some very serious acts as well as acts that were totally false and the Heather the Dir of I & R was extremely short with me regarding my wanting to have a copy. She stated “that you have been furnished a copy and you read it and that is all we have to do and we do not want you to have a copy”.

K/R-Causma(Public MAA): Stated that I refused to come in and see her and told her to mail me my non-enturbulation order that she said that she was going to put on me for not coming in to see her. It stated other points as well but that were the main points that I recall.

Response: True I did tell her that I would not come in and that I would not let happen to Debra what had occurred to me in that non-standard “ethics interview” where I was asked repetitively”what overt has been restimulated” and I was not sessionable and told several terminals this as I stated in my earlier comm to you.

K/R-Theresa Blum(my auditor): One report said that I was evil and 1.1 and I refused to continue letting her audit me. Regarding the evil and 1.1 points of her K/R there were no specific acts that I recall that she gave and per HCOPL opinions are not part of K/R’s. There was more to the report but again I was not given a copy. Theresa also wrote at the top of the report the auditing command she was using “overt in restimulation” I am pretty sure that is what she wrote. The command she used and April used was what overt has been restimulated. I told April that that was the command and that that was a listing question and did she remember that and she just schrugged her shoulders.

Response: This could have been the session first thing Saturday afternoon where she wanted to do a FPRD correction list on me after I told her that I had had only 5 hours of sleep and even after I told her that she wanted to do the correction list and I put the cans down. This was also in another one of my reports that I sent to IJC as well as provided to the committee of evidence.

K/R-Theresa Blum (Do not have data on it ) Again I have no copy as of yet.

K/R-Ruth Valko written by April from an interview: Stated that I told her to read C/S Series 73RB and highlighted exception section and part B of page 4. Ruth told me to write up a Things that shouldn’t be report.

Response: This report was correct but I would like to make it clear that I did not get a copy and neither do I recall if there were other points on the K/R that I would respond to. What is the out-ethics on telling someone to read an HCOB?

K/R-Ed Gonsolin-written by his auditor and I was shown only the top paragraph where it stated that I had meetings at my house. It stated the Virginia and Ed and Debra and myself were the only attendees. The report stated that we met at Virginia’s house. Virginia lives in Idaho, Ed in LA and we live in Clearwater. I told April the above regarding our different states of residence and she stated that maybe it was here in Clearwater. I recall no time when Virginia and ED were together here at Flag and that is not to say that it did not happen but I do not recall a time of specific where we would have a meeting.

At the current moment my wife and I are very concerned that we will be declared suppressive persons. Many LRH references have been violated regarding the proceedings that have transpired so far and they are:

1) Denied a copy of the bill of particulars of the comm eve.

2) Not provided with copies of K/R’s written us and the comm eve committee not interested in our response.

3) False Reports being written on me and my wife as in the bill of particulars stating alarming crimes and high crimes which are not true and this bill of particulars being put in reception of the MAA’s office and we are denied a copy by the Senior Dir of I & R.

4) This entire situation is extremely enturbulating and suppressive to us because of the above stated points and we do not feel that justice is what is being gone after here.

Your immediate help in this matter is needed because we are concerned that we will soon be declared based on false reports.

Sincerely,

Greg Barnes

Assisted Dissem org in getting the Tony Hichman interview put on cable TV stations in Dallas in 1984. Went and got several stations to put the interview on. Dallas Texas

Assisted the then Mission in Atlanta with regging and recruitment of staff. I regged an estimated 60-70 thousand dollars and got people moving onto auditing and training who were not.

When mission was becoming org we donated $500.00 to furnish the LRH office and our donation made the project happen. 1984-90

During the Portland trial we paid the plane ticket for someone to go and represent us.

1986, started WISE consulting company Atlanta Georgia and put over 70 doctors onto the bridge and some of these doctors staff joined mission staff. Many became Patrons and are still active today. These doctors spent in excess of $1 million with the church not to mention the others that they brought in that we don’t know about. We paid over 250,000 in royalties to WISE over a 4 year period and introduced LRH admin tech to over 300 doctors. Many of our doctors did L’s at Flag and we sent doctors into orgs in Ohio,Minneapolis and Atlanta and LA Day. Will provide names if desired.

Spoke at a public forum in Gwinette County Georgia against having a psych hospital put in. We went twice and Dwight Matheny who ran the CCHR Chapter in Atlanta can attest to this. 1989-90

Did radio talk show Media on Dianetics in 1986-87, estimate that we did 10-15 talk shows that got very good results.

Moved to Dallas in 1990 and became active with OT committee and was on training.

Went to Chalokoe in Oklahoma City to participate in the support for the center when it was under attacked by David Mayo and other squirrels. Their was a mental health board meeting that was discussing Chalokoe and we were there to show support.

After Oklahoma Bombing a new mission was formed and did not have a supervisor. Debra is an interned sup and took two weeks off of work and went up there so that the mission could open and deliver courses. Her going there was vital for the mission to open. This occurred some 2-3 weeks after the Federal Building was bombed.

We housed for some 30-60 days the sup in training that the Oklahoma Mission sent down to Dallas to get trained.

Went on a OSA cycle with Carol South where we acted like wogs to get data for OSA Dallas on a squirrel group being run by Alan Walters this occurred around 91-92.

Housed for almost two weeks a SO recruit tour. 94-95 est. time

Assisted the Flag World Tour everytime they came to Dallas on possible prospects. Assisted in closing an L-11 package on one Kay Proctor by telling her my success on L-11.

Became OT Committee Chairman in 1994-1996 and ran the most successful recovery program and got more students back on lines than any other OT committee in Dallas. Sponsored seminars with speakers like Jim Kalergis. These events were attended by 50-60 people and books and services were sold because of these seminars. These seminars are still taking place today by my replacement Hildegard Jessup as the OT committee chairman.

Our OT committee put on the most successful fund raising auction dinner for Jerry Boswell who runs the CCHR chapter in Austin Texas this occured in 1996. Our program was so successful that Houston and Austin did the same activity and the dinner is still going on every year and raising more money for CCHR Austin. The Dallas auction raised 15 – 18 thousand dollars. With Austin and Houston the total came to a estimated $35,000.

We personally donated over 2000.00 to CCHR Austin in 1996. We have continued donating funds in 1997 and 98. We have donated to the Clearwater CCHR chapter since we have moved here in November 1996.

In 1992 or 1993 a project was told to us at Flag to get an LRH autobiography published and we donated some 6500.00 to this project.

My wife finished paying for our Patron status in 92-93 and we have since continued donating when we can. We have put into the IAS an estimated 50-55 thousand.

Debra went to great extents to get a squirrel named Angie DeMarro, in 1992-93 off the level when Debra found that this terminal was back on 7 and at home auditing with confidential materials. Hy Levy can attest to this.

Since being in Clearwater November of 1996. Was a spokes person for the Church to the press regarding the Lisa McPherson situation.

Have mendened ARCX’s between Scientologists since being here. One in particular was an upset that was between Delphi and the Comm Line Newspaper. Both Sandy Adair and Sally Heath can attest to this.

Assisted in getting Dr. Bob Neuwirth from Dallas to Flag for his OT levels 1995-96

Have routed other doctors to Ruth Valko for Life Repair in the past two years. One doctor Richard Lutz and Dr. Wilbeck.

Donated a picture from Author Services to the auction to raise money for the community services program that is put on by Scientology. Eve Witter can attest to this. 1998

Have donated computers and other equipment to Delphi on an ongoing basis. 1997-1999

Have been wearing one of the hats for call in for the Concern Business Association meetings.

Linda McCarthy OTV – Doubt Formula

May 10, 2010
Doubt Formula:

1. Inform oneself honestly of the actual intentions and activities of that group, project or org, brushing aside all bias and rumor.

The intentions and activities of the group of people that are running the C of S are to follow the orders of a person who elected himself to be the Chairman of the Board of the C of S – namely David Miscavige. They, as a result have created a hierarchy that dictates off Source activities (all inclusive of ethics, tech and admin) and have thus have caused a contraction of Scientology. While it is understood that the people under Miscavige didn’t start out with this intention, nor with those activities, stats prove that they are now fully engaged and are part and parcel to the problem. At the top of this “management” is David Miscavige.

To wit:

High prices from Mission to CL V Org, to AOSHs, AOs, FSO and Freewinds.

-Introductory services are cheap (this is about the only service that is affordable) After that, the prices for training and auditing become exorbitant and out of reach for your average every day citizen. If one does make it to the top of the Bridge, prices at the FSO will bankrupt your non-wealthy public person. There are a number of public who “sent their (OT VII) materials back” due to not being able to afford the “6-month refresher”. I don’t have the actual number, but do know of specifics. Point being, the masses cannot afford Scientology at any echelon. The intention is to make it difficult for the masses to acquire Scientology. Probably to weed out the “less able” as defined by the arrogant upper crust. The prices bar broad participation in Scientology. Hammering the public for donations to IAS, ASI, Superpower Building, Book Campaigns, and Ideal Org Buildings.

-These 5 mentioned are the 5 off the top of my head. The IAS was formed as the Church was in peril. That was apparently handled with the IRS threat put to rest in 1993 (17 years ago). Hundreds of millions of dollars have been raised, and more continues to be regged on a daily basis to handle never-ending imminent disasters. The disasters being communicated about actually create a dangerous environment for Scientologists. Countless events are held at local mission and org level (or at people’s houses or businesses) to raise money needed to stomp out psychiatry, to save France, or to save Germany, or, or, or.  Hundreds of millions. But psychiatry is alive and well and has visibly accomplished many of their targets (get your hands on the booklet Brainwashing and you’ll see). They have effectively infiltrated the fabric of the U.S. A nearly obscene amount of money has been raised to handle the anti-Scn activities in Europe, but these still rage today.

The PR of Scientology in the U.S. is horrible, despite millions upon millions being raised to improve public opinion and awareness through ad campaigns and booklets: VM booklets, drug booklets TWTH, CCHR booklets etc. A tremendous amount of money is extorted from public Scientologists to fund TV commercials that somehow are never seen.

Ideal Org Building fund-raising is at the forefront of the marching orders to CL V orgs. The finding and purchasing of Ideal Org Buildings is the antithesis of LRH intention as fully summarily covered in HCO PL 23 Sept 70 Quarters,Policy Regarding, Historical (in OEC Vol VII). Despite this, orgs are being hammered to 1. Find a building (and it must be 40,000 square feet minimum to be considered), and 2. Fund-raise so it can be purchased.. This calls for c-o-n-t-i-n-u-a-l events so the millions can be raised. These events MUST be held on a repeating basis. When public go to the FSO, they earmark how much money they are going to donate while they are there – because they are not going to make it out of there without donating. I know of a lady kept up until 4 am until she agreed to turn over 50,000 in donation to the IAS (and broke the agreement with her husband to consult him before dishing out money). She was distraught, as she is not a wealthy woman, is in her late 50s and does not have any kind of nest egg. The 50,000 was from a house sale that was for seeing her through OT VII. She was at the FSO to “bring SOLO NOTS home, and she left without her materials even though she passed all the requirements. She was, in effect, shoved right off the bridge.  The intention is to distract the orgs from delivery, to get every thin dime from the public, and to use the acquisition of these buildings to prove that Scientology is booming when it’s not.

Superpower – Superpower has been ready for release for over a decade (maybe 2?). The intention is to stockpile money and stop the release of Superpower.

Book Campaigns are constantly regged for. Since I have been out of the S.O, I have more calls to purchase books (new releases as well as donations for libraries) than I have for getting my F/L debt paid off or for getting back on the Bridge. After I routed out, I got a call from the I&R CLO and an FSC reg, who had a well-laid plan to get thousands of dollars in credit with 0% interest so I could get 4 full sets of Basics (books and lectures). This totaled 12,000.00.00 and it included about 30,000.00 for my F/L debt. I fell for it and did it. The Basics materials are in my garage and my credit cards are maxed and my credit ruined. I earnestly tried to get the basics sold, but the field is inundated with these materials with numerous public also storing them in the garage. My bad, and I’m paying the price.

While in charge of a CL V org, there were repeated visits from (Bridge Publications and GOLD) projects who were fund raising for book campaigns and bright ideas – all with a guarantee that the campaign would “handle the city” or “drive public in on the org”.  The intention is to amass vast quantities of money with no exchange to “fund” off-source bright ideas that are a distraction of org production.

Blocking flows of public up the Bridge.

-This is covered above with the high prices and by distracting them with donate, donate, donate, but also by directing OT Ambassadors to reach into their field and send them to FSO for Objectives and Grades. Objectives and Grades are done at mission and CL V org level and they should be directed to flood their own org with public, not send them elsewhere. With the release of the basic books and lectures, the runway to becoming an auditor has lengthened just that much, as they are now prerequisites. The intention is to empty out the CL V orgs, and if they don’t empty out, then inhibit them from making auditors.

Altering tech and policy.

-I was most recently posted at the CL V org level (garrison mission out of CLO WUS). The outpoints in the running of the mission itself and the managing of the org were wild and various. The biggest and most destructive 3 were 1. no evaluation. An evaluation was asked for repeatedly and management was provided with HUNDREDS of pages of data. No joy, so sent the package to ED INT. He responded quite thoughtfully and helpfully, and I executed his direction. But the org needed an eval and nothing relayed to every echelon resulted in getting the org evaluated ( 6 YEARS), but instead 2. constant orders to find a new building. The city was scouted and nothing could be found that was either big enough nor affordable.  Two real estate agents burned out. The main guy in charge of this from the CLO came to the org to help on at least 5 occasions, and didn’t find anything either. That
notwithstanding, repeated events were ordered to be held to fund-raise the money for a new building. In 5 years, about $190,000 for a new building was raised. The public did not like the entire concept and wouldn’t donate. Out of that paltry amount of money (which the public faithfully donated to get a new building) an order came down to spend over 8,000.00 of it for a Congress Lectures display that would boom the org.  3. is the “direction” to put on events. These are New Years, LRH Birthday, May 9th, Summer of events (MV Anniversary – which are all 4 weekends of July, Auditor’s Day, IAS Anniversary. Usually a large event is expected for a viewing of the CC Int Gala which is in, I believe Sept.  The
push and comm on this is relentless and HUGE “because  each event is like no other”. The hype that this is the solution to expansion that you are looking for is communicated in a new unit of time with each event. Each event will literally (a very commonly used adverb) change the public involvement and will boom your org.

What changed in 2005 or 6, is that no events can be held in your org (unless you were in an Ideal org building). It has to be at an outside venue AND the venue would get approved only if it was very upstat (you have to send pictures) and only if the room held 3X your highest ever event attendance. This is a waste time and of money. The entire staff have to be run on event call in and org funds have to be spent on these venues.  Because this particular org was somewhat nearby the PAC Base, we were frequently ordered to attend the live event in PAC – which the public hated, and the attendance was horrible – but our measly 40 or so public that did go filled a few more seats at the live (filmed) event. One time I deliberately cross-ordered having the event in an outside venue and I was investigated by the org’s DSA and told I couldn’t emcee the event because I was out-ethics.

Another management squirrel operating basis is to operate on “Patterns”. For instance, Buffalo org was purchased, and made into an Ideal Org. There were sequences to pulling that off. So this becomes a pattern.  So there are telexes and directions for you to do in your org that copy the “Buffalo Pattern” (for instance).  Or in one org, someone got lucky and told the Lead (public) VM that he was now the Volunteer Minister I/C (a staff post), and that person agreed. So that becomes the solution in every org: just walk up to your Field VM I/C and tell him/her that he/she is now on staff. Useless.

The other mismanagement was the relentless demand that you get 20 recruits (in one week) and send them all to FSO for training as supervisors and auditors. If it wasn’t in your BP, then it got added by your Programs Chief with a face-rip on not having included it. The Snr C/S of the org was pounded for compliance to this order as well by her senior – the Snr C/S of the Cont.

There are daily calls from Bridge to make your GBS quota – pushing mainly the selling of Congresses and Basics. An org had to purchase an $8,000.00 interactive display from Gold when the Congresses were released. The payment for this was okay’d to be fund-raised, and when that didn’t pan out, it was okay’d to come from the money set-aside for the purchase of the new Ideal Org Building. $8,000.00 down the drain.

These are the key points that were utter distractions to running the org or getting in public to sell and deliver to (Reason for Orgs). The intention is to eradicate standard management as covered by LRH is Management CBOs (Central Bureaux Orders). “Highest Ever” statistics have been re-defined so they are NOT highest ever – they are highest ever for the year. So when highest ever is mentioned at an event, it’s not the truth.

It’s a major outpoint that Objectives and Grades are being delivered in so few hours at the FSO. If GAT auditors are perfect everywhere, then what is different about the tech at the FSO? Also, not just altering, but removing: HCO PL “Policy on Sec EDs and Hats” (try 2 or 3 OEC Vol Os ago) and where is HCO PL “Planetary Dissemination”? These LRH issues have been removed from recent re-issues of the OEC volumes. Other notable alterations have been noted by others and are verifiable by comparing earlier tapes with current CDs.

The Comm Course which boomed Scientology in the 70s is gone. The Primary Rundown is gone and LRH says it is a vital prerequisite to major training (ref Tech Vol X pg 84-87) HCO B 4 April 1972R PRIMARY RUNDOWN (REVISED): “ It is up to the Course Supervisor to hold this line in. His students will not prosper if their study is begun without a Primary Rundown.  It is a high crime to omit this vital step.”. And 10 years after LRH is gone, there is a new definition for what an F/N is: 3 swings of the needle.

The Intention is to just spin everyone, and once they’re spinning, jam in a bunch of arbitraries so they stick (anyone who’s run FPRD knows how’s how this works.)

Misapplying ethics and justice:

-The brutality mentioned in numerous and various sites describes this fully. For me (as a Cl V org garrison mission ED), I couldn’t get a supervisor comm. ev’d who was (by public interrog) guilty of gross, gross, gross out tech, who had tried (in the courseroom) to interest a public in a product he was selling on his moonlight job, but I was comm. ev’d at the end of my Garrison Mission for being disaffected.  This violates an LRH handling for “returning vets” to do a returning vets program which gets them cleaned up and put on post back in management. I was not ethics’d when things were going to shit, but was ethics’d when the person I had recruited to replace me finally arrived. With the org not expanding and struggling, a mission was sent by the CLO to RB “why the golden age of tech is not going in”.

It’s also noted that an S.O. member who was I/C of an IAS Branch Office was reported on by me to be abusive to staff – both mentally and physically and got physical with his own wife – to a point the wife and one of the staffers were suicidal “Sorry Upstat”  was the reply. The intention is to create robots who comply to the beat of the chief drummer.

Mismanaging and no-managing orgs

— see above

Misappropriating funds

–See above examples of how a Cl V org is directed. I have no doubts that IAS and Superpower money has been misappropriated simply by being very familiar with the amount of money raised compared to the “no product.” Again, the intention is to amass huge quantities of monies to be spent at the whim of the powers elite.

2. Examine the statistics of the individual, group, project or org.

Cl V org stats are declining over a very long period of time – like 20 years.
The Ideal Orgs that have been made are NOT full of public. Staff are gotten from different cities and different orgs to man up the newest Ideal Org. Geographical musical chairs. Psychiatry is succeeding.
Education is abysmal.
There is no one on superpower. The building isn’t done.
Numerous OT VIIIs have left the church. Former RTC and senior execs have left the church. Old-timers or someone with a physical condition are simply offloaded.
Huge sums of money (mainly for IAS) are accumulating.
People leaving the S.O., or dismissed from the S.O. are at an all time high.
The PR of Scientology is abysmal in the public mind
The “Golden Age of Tech” touts that the tech will be perfect everywhere, but orgs are being instructed (via OT Ambassadors) to send their field to Flag. I suppose where “real tech” can be received.
Releases, Clears and Auditors are on a 20 years decline.
Obscene amounts of money have been spent on buildings and quarters for RTC and Miscavige.

3. Decide on the basis of “the greatest good for the greatest number of dynamics” whether or not it should be attacked, harmed or suppressed or helped.

I would like to help it, but that door is closed due to the Chairman of the Board. So the current management (and more specifically the instigator: David Miscavage) has to be attacked.

4. Evaluate oneself or one’s own group, project or org as to intentions and objectives.

The intentions and objectives of my own group are to deliver Scientology is a safe environment with on-Source application of tech and policy to the result of the person moving up the Bridge with such rave results, he gets everyone he knows to “come get it too.” This describes a field group, mission, Cl V org as it was back in the 70s – when LRH was on the line and org staff ran their orgs with minimal management interference. Further, it is to be part of a 3D that operates on-Source so a true 3rd dynamic can be realized and we can get on with clearing the planet without distractions (that are brought about by aberrated, out-ethics, off-Source behavior by those in charge). Our eternity depends on this. The objective is an On-Source Scientology where ethics, tech and admin   (includes management tech) are applied by the book – so that the benefits of Scientology can be realized on this earth.

5. Evaluate one’s own or one’s group, project or org’s statistics.

Non-e for me personally. And I don’t specifically know the statistics of the group I have decided to join. We are “in the Div 6 Phase” at this point wherein new adherents are being invited to join the group of Independent Scientologists – this stat appears very much to be on the increase. Just the blog where one learns and decides has over 1 million hits. So it is growing – ie upstat.

6. Join or remain in or befriend the one which progresses toward the greatest good for the greatest number of dynamics and announce the fact publicly to both sides.

I hereby join the group of Independent Scientologists. And to make it crystal clear: It is a group of people that ARE Scientologists, who abide by tech and policy and won’t tolerate off-Source activities. I am joining the group that recognizes that David Miscavige is wrecking the C of S and thus is the group that is eager to right the wrongs and get Scientology back on the rails.

NB. Here are the bullet points of why Miscavige has to step down/be removed:
•    Sabotage of CL V orgs by: eradicating on-Source Management.
•    Getting rid of/removing those who know Management Tech
•    Ordering CL V org OT Committees to send org public to FSO for Objs & Grades
•    Commanding back-to-back international events that feature him and how He is saving and/or expanding Scientology
•    Commanding continual events that drain the pockets of on-line public for: new 40,000 sf buildings, superpower building, book campaigns, IAS disasters
•    Not releasing superpower
•    Waste/extravagance with parishioner donations, and monies sent to Int by CL V orgs and missions, and god knows who else.
•    Depriving CL V Org staff adequate pay through a “finance  system” that chokes them.
•    Being privy to, enforcing or suggesting abortions
•    Hijacking the heart and soul of Scientology by: dissing LRH tech by redefining training and enforcing a “Golden Age” (of tech); creating ethics arbitraries where parishioners cannot express their feelings or opinions
•    Reinstituting disconnection and ripping apart friends and family thus creating horrific ARC Xs and PR for Scientology – MAKING enemies for Scn.
•    Setting himself up as Source by defining what an F/N is; by deleting data from tapes, books, technical bulletins and policies.
•    Redefining HIGHEST EVER without informing the public so highest ever if for the year, not for ever. When relayed at int events, the public are then made to believe in the “expansion”.
•    Ruining the movie Battlefield Earth.
•    Degrading capable Int Execs by: declaring them SP; locking them down and physically and mentally abusing them until they toe his line.
•    Creating a hidden data line
•    Squirreling Ethics
•    Squirreling Tech
•    Squirreling admin – including Management Tech
•    Joking and Degrading
•    Revealing details of confessions protected by priest/penitent privilege
•    Monopolizing the LRH biographer’s time, thus sabotaging the anticipated publication of the LRH biography.
•    Not delivering the broadly announced Scientology dictionary
•    And he hit Heber……

So after all is said and done, examined, digested and confronted, I hereby declare my self an Independent Scientologist. I am not resigning from “the Church”.  “Resigning” has too many distasteful connotations. Being an Independent Scientologist does not. It provides the freedom of thought and movement that is at the core of Scientology.

Declaration:

In 1972, someone asked if I wanted to do a Communications Course. In we walked, and I sat down for an OT TRO and went exterior after an hour or so. Then 2 hour blinkless TR O. I was IN! Then HQS (the big flap was running out of chairs). Then PRD and I was asked if I was interested in working there. My verbatim response was: “I could work here?!!!!” And so I did for nearly 3 years. My idea was that as soon as everyone (I was thinking only of United States at that time) even heard of Scientology, we’d have totally 100% made it – simply because Scientology was so logical and true, that as soon as anyone heard of it – well, they’d do it. Staff was the joy of joys. I ended up as the Dissemination Secretary. I built it to an 18 man Dissemination Division. Going to post everyday was like doing what you wanted to do. There were 5 FEBCs heading the org that were all trained on the Apollo under LRH – with L-10 under their belts.  Sweet.  The CLO even sent an observation mission to find out how we were doing it. We had a look-alike contest to see who looked the most like our Programs Chief.

It was just fun and games and we were booming with 80 students in the Academy at one time doing nothing but Student Hat/PRD, Acad levels 0-IV and HSDC. The internship was full. We had a build a second HGC because the HGC hit over 600 hours (pre-purif – because it didn’t exist at that time). LRH policy says that when your hours hit 600, you need a second HGC – so we built one. There were 2 Cl VIIIs with 2 more I/T at ASHO. A couple of the staff went to AO and did through OT III. Then someone asked if I would join the Sea Org. Of course!! What else would one do?

At first, it was just a hoot. It’s 1976 and so much of what was still alive was LRH. He had a fleet of vans that were purchased for the sole purpose of taking the staff to the beach or the local CW malls to shop on their days off. You didn’t CSW for your liberty (every second Sat if your stats were up). You just told your senior the “tomorrow is my libs day, so I won’t be in”.  “Okay” would be the reply. 3 week leave were a little tougher, but in my first 5 years in the S.O, I ran a mission to acquire additional berthing for the staff and nursery because there were a lot more staff and there was a bit of a baby boom happening. I supervised outer org and was very highly commended by LRH 3 times (a very highly commended cleans your ethics file and you get a campaign bar for it)

And over the years, the freedoms, granting of beingness, the right to originate, the liberties, the staff “perks” began to erode. The pay, the food, the time off, the freedom to create your post – bit by bit, these things eroded/  It just stopped being fun. Fast forward 30 years or so. Libs are a nightmare to get. 3 week leaves are almost unheard of. There are 10-16 people per dorm. Musters are 3 Xs per day and are ordinarily entheta. Staff are micro-managed.  There are no babies and women who become pregnant either abort or are offloaded (the idea to send them to CL V orgs for 6 years is no more – they are offloaded with a freeloader debt). My own son was staff for 13 years and is a Purif completion. He’s out along with his wife. They now have 2 young beautiful and vibrant children. But, I’ve declared my independence. She or he have alerted all my friends on Facebook that I have resigned. I love my son with every fiber of my being, but he’s disconnected from me and is hard at work severing all my “still in” friends. The day after this happened, my in-box was full of “Linda, is this true?”

Let the games begin.  Truth, in the end will prevail, and it will all be set right. This chapter will close, and Book II will begin with Scientology re-instated as it was meant to be.
